what do you consider a low carb diet? How many carbs do you intake and how do you adjust the other items such as protein, etc?

If you go to your settings you can set "custom goals" and change the percentages. I follow a low carb diet for health reasons, and have mine set to 25% Carb 40% protein and 30% fat.0

Make sure you get enough protein- 1 g per lb of lean body mass, under 100g carbs or as low as you feel necessary and get the rest of your calories from fats. That's how I would approach it!0

Any good ideas for meatless proteins with low carb? I like meat but I just don't like a lot of it. A previous low carb diet I was on was tons of meat and I couldn't stand it. I try to get protein in with beans but they have higher carbs. Ideas? Thanks!0

Don't be scared to get a few carbs! Nuts, beans, some meats, fish, cottage cheese, eggs, and protein powder are some good options, there are many more too just pick things you like!0 -
Thanks! I'm not scared per say. I try to make them good carbs but it's just hard when I can't stand a lot of lean meats.0

They don't have to all be lean meats, when your going low carb you will usually have more calories going towards your fats.0 -

If you're going low carb, you need to make up the missing calories with fat. Do LC or LF, but don't do both. That means you can stop worrying about lean meats, or eggs, or butter, or cheese.0 -

Keeping constant doesn't work for everyone so changing portion is better idea.
Low carb mean higher protein intake.
100g/day is definitely low carb if you are >53 kg body weight.0 -

I agree with the 100 g/day or lower for low carb, but most people on low carb eat protein the same as anyone else and eat more fat.0 -
I do stay under 100g. I am currently 177 lbs0

Yeah it seems to be 100 g or lower.
That's exactly what I'm doing and while I eat more meat, I also eat fats...my typical diet includes Greek yogurt, turkey, chicken, beef, soy milk, cottage cheese, nuts, protein shakes and bars, very dark chocolate (85%), sugar free/artificially sweetened stuff, bacon, eggs, tuna salad, fish oil supplement...can't think of more right now0 -

If there is no medical reason, why go low carb? It is not required for weightloss at all. Why not incorporate some carbs if you are not a fan of meat?0 -
I eat 20g carbs per day. Because my stomach hates carbs.0

Can someone suggest a good balance % wise? I think mine are set 20% carbs, 40% fat and 40% protein but that seems like way too little carbs from what you're saying. I don't think I set it like that so mfp must of recommended that. I don't have any medical reason. I'm 160, aiming for about 140. No wonder I always eat over my carb allowance!0

Remember to add fat/oils and protein when you are eating few carbs.0

I stick to under 30 net grams of carbs per day.
I enjoy lots of tuna, salmon, chicken, eggs, cream cheese, butter, brocolli, cashew nuts (just 'cause I love them), cheese etc.
Something I think is quite yummy is making a wrap using eggs. One or two eggs beaten, then cooked in a pan, nice and thin. Add grated cheese when halfway cooked. Remove from the pan and fill with whatever takes your fancy. I like avocado, chicken and cream cheese. I just put in whatever I have on hand that isn't mega high in carbs.
I love getting a fresh chunk of raw salmon, slicing it up and dipping it in a good Japanese soy sauce. I'll also roll some little balls of cream cheese alongside it and dip them too. Yum.0 -

Go to http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/ Fill out the data fields and when you get to step 3, click on Low card option and the calculator will give you a ratio that you can use. And it will give you amount of grams/calories. Good luck.0 -

I have 25g carb maximum a day, i find this easy with a great variety of foods to choose from. Ive lost 23lbs in just under 2 months.0

Plenty of people eat 25 g carbs/day. It has nothing to do with how many calories you eat. If you want to eat more calories, you add more fat.0
