Depends what you want to achieve.

Road riding is good cross training to help the running.

Do both. If you have issues with your legs/joints do bike, its low-impact on the legs/joints.

Not sure why this an "or". I run three times a week, cycle 2-3 times a week. Add in a couple of swims a week and you're on your way to triathlete awesomeness.

    Define "better"?

    I do both.

Running burns calories in less time but there is risk of foot, leg, etc. impact injuries.

Cycling burns less calories per minute and has lower foot, leg injury rate unless you are run over by a car.
