Also did the Bluegrass Half today- the rolling hills got a little old round about mile 7.
BUT, I can't complain too much because I PRed! I was a heck of a lot faster than I expected. Plus, yes, the medal is very cool.
106.5/100 miles this month.
Very good! Did you sign up for the PR oak barrel stave?

Beautiful day outside once it stopped snowing and the sun came out. Planning on taking pics of the natural spring I run along but the phone died before I got there. Shame really because it's stunning. Had my best mile, my best 1k, and my best 5k according to Nike. Averaged a 10ish min mile when I usually average a 12 min mile. All-in-all, I'm pretty happy.0 -

Instead of going out for a 3 mile solo run this morning, I went for a 3.5 mile run/walk with my 6 year old. I am not going to count it with my goal because there was a lot of walking but we had fun and I love that he wants to go with me.0

Somewhere, I read that shoes last longer if you switch beween pairs, so that the damping has time to recover. Not sure if there is any validity to that claim, though. And I guess it also depends on where you run (concrete is probably tougher on the shoes than a nice forest path).
@SonicDeathMonkey80 and @SBRRepeat : 13.1 mi of rolling hills sound tough. Congratulation on your great races and the cool medal :-)
@TwelveSticks: I hope your calf will be healed soon!
@fabnine: welcome back to the joy of running. Your streak was absolutely awesome.
Congrats to everyone who already made their goal. I still have a way to go...0 -
Just realised I didn't post my last few runs. Probably because I was so annoyed with myself after the run on Tuesday. It was both the slowest and the shortest run in a while for me, thanks to my own stupidity:
Came home late from work and was in a hurry to go running, so I changed really fast and headed out. And felt really, really uncomfortable... First I was wondering if maybe I had washed my sports bra too hot and ruined its support effect, then I realised I had been scatterbrained enough to only change pants and shoes, and otherwise was still wearing my work clothes. I tried to run as "un-bouncy" as possible, but still had to admit defeat after less than a mile. Previously, I had been wondering if I really needed a sports bra, but that run definitely answered that question for me...
Before the other runs this week, I always made sure I changed into running clothes all the way before heading out of the door

March 1 -Rest
March 2 - 4 miles
March 3 - 5.1 miles (furthest run to date)
March 4-6th - Rest arches, I pulled them jumping rope.
March 7 - 4 miles OUTSIDE!!! It was so warm here, I was surprised!
March 8 - 4 miles (plus a hike on the mountain)
March 9 - 3.1 miles (5k OUTSIDE!!, plus a 2 mile walk and weight training)
March 10 - 2.25 miles (It was hard to run tonight....)
March 11 - 3.1 miles (5k)
March 12 - 3.1 miles (5k, outside and the pace was MUCH different than on the treadmill. It was 9:47 mpm versus the almost 12 that I get on the machine)
March 13 - 2 miles (night before first 5k race)
March 14 - 3.1 miles (5k) I feel great about most of my first race! I ran my fastest mile time so far (8:56 mpm) and was on track to *maybe* place but ended up with a side stitch right in the middle that slowed me way down for about 1/2 mile (I need to fine tune what I should eat on race mornings) so my finish time was right at 30 minutes. I *think* this is a decent time for a first 5k race??
March 15 - 4 miles
March 16 - 3.1 miles (5k)
March 17 - 3.1 miles (5k)
March 18 - 22 Traveling and horrible stomach flu

March 25 - 3.1 miles (5k)
March 26 & 27 - Rest
March 28 - 3.1 miles (5k)

@SonicDeathMonkey80 and @SBRRepeat - Awesome medal and congrats on the PR SBRRepeat!
@notafatty33 - nice run! I can't believe you and others are still getting snow and we are in the 90s already!
@dennie24 - it is so fun to share something you love with your kids! I just love their unbiased all out approach to everything, running, walking, whatever - it is fun!
@_nikkiwolf_ - I rotate between shoes with usually 2-3 pairs in the rotation so that none of them get hit too much time after time. It does seem to help and spreads out the amount of time (if not necessarily the number of miles) a pair lasts. At least it feels like they are lasting longer even if I am just not wearing any one pair as much. Also as annoying as they are, sports bras are a necessary evil! I too have often thought I didn't need one but yes it still makes a big difference!
I did not have a great run today - the first 4-4.5 were amazing and the 2nd were equally as agonizing... a hard fought 9 (of the 12 I had planned) and the first time in a long while that I have given in and called my husband to come get me.

Congratulation to all who have already reached there march goal.
Fantastic half SonicDeathmonkey and SBRRepeat, brilliant times.
Shanaber... Hope your recovered after your bad run.
10k race for me today, weather was very wet but still enjoyed the experience once we got under way, sploshing through the puddles was great fun and one down hill stretch was just a river of water, still I managed to do this race 3 minuets faster than the last time I ran this one so very pleased with myself.
10 miles done this week to add to my total if only I could remember what my total is, all I know is that last time I posted I'd already past my March goal.
