I've been juicing for a while now dieting and not dieting , my main juice is 2cups of kale,4. Celery stocks , I Apple, I whole cucumber ginger and lemon. I take this every day as a meal replacement now that I'm dieting usually for lunch. I'm trying to loose two pounds a week so it's saying my calorie intake should be 1,500 . I eat yogurt and jello, eggs and this juice . I don't want to eat bread or pasta. So it's saying that I'm not i taking enough calories . I work out with preworkout and by the end of the day of eating those things I'll have 1000 to 800 calories left for the day that I'm not using . I'm on day three of this new diet. And I've lost 5 pounds probably water weight. Am I getting enough nutrients for my body with what I'm eating? I know it's not enough calories but if I'm eating fruits and veggies and protein every day is that okay?

No...vitamins & minerals are not the only nutrients your body needs.
It also needs protein, fat, fiber, etc which your diet sounds woefully lacking in (especially at that caloric level)0 -

No, you probably aren't getting enough nutrients for your body eating this low.
Proper nutrition isn't just about checking off boxes on a list ("Okay, I've eaten some veggies today, okay, I've eaten some fruit today"), it's about giving your body sufficient energy to fuel your weight loss levels.
You need some calories too. What are your net calories each day? What is your current weight? What are you burning through workouts?0 -

If her goal is 1500 calories and she's undereating by 800-1000 calories, that means she's only taking in 500-700 calories (of which probably 200 is the juice). No way she's meeting her macros on that.0 -
You definitely need to eat more. You won't be able to live that way forever. Sure you'll lose weight eating that way but if you keep that up you're bound to get frustrated and give up. Don't do anything to lose weight that you can't do for the rest of your life. Otherwise you're bound to gain it back.0

I used to juice daily - it does taste yummy!
You are probably not getting enough nutrition though, particularly fiber & fats. What are you eating for protein? You need protein, AND fat. And you are probably not getting enough fiber if you are juicing the veggies and fruits. You should be getting at least 25 grams of fiber a day, and at least 40+ grams of protein.
You don't have to eat bread or pasta but you need to make sure you get enough fiber, fats, and protein. I try to reach 28 g fiber, at least 70 g of protein, and 40-45 g of fat. I don't always make it, sometimes I go over, sometimes I come close...but I would bet you are not getting nearly the fat, fiber, and protein you need to be healthy.0 -

Yesterday was like 600 calories all together I weigh 185 and I go tontine gym every other day and burn about 350 calories with cardio for 30min and k do strength training in sections throughout the week. Arms chest abs legs .IsaackGMOON wrote: »How come you are juicing?

You should not be consuming less than 1,200 calories a day at a bare minimum - and that's the net, after exercise calorie burn is accounted for.
Once in a while it's probably not harmful to be under - I have had an occasional day where I ate about 900 calories (after exercise and I wasn't hungry to eat more), or even less if I was sick...but that is like, once in a blue moon - not once a week or several times a week - not on a regular basis at ALL.

You really need to eat your recommended calories! Juicing is fine as long as you do it IN ADDITION to eating properly. It gets you vitamins and helps fit in a lot of good fruit and vegetables in an easy way but you need to be eating a balanced diet of protein, carbs, and fat in addition. I've been eating 1300-1400 and I'm smaller than you and I'm losing at a steady 1 lb per week which is what I selected.
The way you are eating is not healthy and you will crash/burn out/binge if you continue this way.0 -

You're really answering your own question here. You know that it's not enough calories. Juicing can be a great way to include more vitamins, but you need to balance it out with some other foods.

Im getting protein through eggs and I'll mix granola with my yogurt . I haven't in the past three days though so I'll add that . Thank you!0

In no way at all, is juicing 'healthy'.
You know those white things in your mouth, go by the name of teeth, they're meant for breaking down food. You know stomach acid, that's meant for breaking down macros with enzymes. You know those intestines of yours, they are meant to absorb micro/macronutrients from the food you ate - not for juice.
Get your child of this damn thing.

Sorry issiack my family juices .i didn't say we only juice . We eat food for those white things in our mouths too. My child and family better off this your the first person I ever heard to say adding a Juice that's organic and healthy is unhealthy0

It's not unhealthy as long as you use it as a supplement to normal food eating. You need to get the protein, fat, and fiber too - say no to diet pills ! I didn't see that. Just eat the right amount of calories per day to be in a deficit and meet your macro nutrient goals (fat, fiber, protein, iron, calcium, etc.) and you will do just fine! I've lost over 20 lbs since Jan 25th.0

I don't think you understand what juicing does. The juice you make at home will have as much sugar as the fruit that you put into the juice. If you are trying to avoid sugar, juicing is a poor option.0 -

A bunch of vitamins are fat soluble - so if you aren't eating enough fats to go with the juice, you aren't absorbing all those healthy vitamins.0

I knew someone who was on a “diet” and ate two pieces of fruit and two sugary yogurts every day for lunch. My point: just like with juicing, it’s easy to think that eating something that sounds healthy is going to lead to weight loss. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean is a good idea.
Drinking a juice with barely any protein and fibre as a meal replacement ends up being nothing other than sugar and vitamins. It’s great that you’re also having eggs, at least, but I’d recommend you consider eating actual whole foods and normal meals, or at least fortified smoothies. Could you lose weight doing this? Yeah, probably. Would it be sustainable and healthy? Probably not.
Also, pasta and bread aren’t the devil - I will say what people around here have repeated over and over: you can eat anything, as long as it fits your macros and you stay under your calories. If I want a slice of pizza, I’ll eat that for lunch and then have a protein-heavy nutritious dinner to make up for it. You don’t have to deprive yourself of foods to lose weight, and it makes me sad you feel that way .
I estimated the nutritional content of your juice using this online calculator (juicerecipes.com). In juiced form, it comes to 128 calories, 37g carbs, 1.3g fibre, 20g sugar, 6.5g protein. If you were to blend this into a smoothie, it would be 234 calories, 53g carbs, 13.5 fibre, 29g sugar, 9.5 protein. So basically, you’re eliminating 12 grams of fibre for 100 fewer calories, half the protein, and a bit fewer carbs. I’m not a fan of juicing, so I just don’t think it’s worth it, but it’s fine in addition to balanced meals if that’s your thing. I’d suggest considering green smoothies with greek yogurt, peanut butter, or whey protein, to make them into a more complete liquid meal.0
