@shanaber I was scrolling through this post and, for a split second, thought your pups feet were yours. I was like, "dang, I thought my feet were deformed from running... Look at these horrible things."
Then I saw your actual feet, my panic subsided, and I dig the new shoes!0 -
I ran 6.5 miles today. That's the farthest I have gone so far and now I am feeling pretty good about being able to complete the Bolder Boulder in May. Hopefully. I do have a question about cadence. I know that the ideal cadence is 180 for a minute but is there a range that is also acceptable? My Forerunner 220 said that my cadence was 168 today and I am just curious how far off I am from where I need to be.

First run of the month- FINALLY! I only took four days off from running and, in that time, did 2 strength workouts, 2 yoga classess, a bike ride AND 2 swims and I still felt like I was being a slacker. I have issues...
Root cause of toe troubles=Too many hills + too little body glide. Noted.
Anyway, 5.2 miles on the muddy, deserted trails of my local state park. It was SO beautiful out today. Lots of running through creeks and mud puddles and commiserating with mud soaked mountain bikers. I may never go back to running on pavement.
5.2 done of 75 (or 100, or whatever. We'll see.)0 -
uh oh ... spent the day at the airport with one kid and dress shopping (aka Pure Hell) with another kid. No running today ... will struggle to reach 105 this month!0

@ShortMrsN and @ddmom0811 - Mischka has not had her baby yet. She has around 9 weeks to go.
@Wendy1Fl - you are doing great and getting some miles in!
@SBRRepeat - Hahahahaha! Glad you are over the panic I have never used body glide on my toes, does it help? I do cover the tips/nails sometimes with moleskin and that helps.
Long run for me today. Planned to go for 10, maybe 12 and ended up at 13. It was one of those days where I just felt I could keep running and running.

Yay! It's getting to be that perfect running temperature here in New England...wet, but great temperature. Thanks Stan for doing this again! I'm in for 90 this month. It will be a struggle as the kids are out of school for a week. I'll do my ticker when I finally make it home. So far this month I'm at... 15.3.

I'm in for 45 miles. Just found this so I'm a little late to the game and I'm working out a knee issue so I'm shooting low. I've done 3 since the 1st so 42 more to go.0

Who was the poster who was pregnant and has she had her baby yet, anyone know??
I can't remember her name, but am sure she was still running in February/early March?
(have tried searching but having issues navigating my way round )
It is @runningmischka - I know she said she had to cut down her miles, but I don't remember seeing that she had her baby.
@shanaber - picture cracked me up! Nice shoes!
@iofred - black spots sounds scary! Keep up the fluids!
April 1 - rest
April 2- 6.01 miles
April 3- 5.15 miles
April 4 - 34 mile bike ride - wasn't dropped.
Thank you!!0 -
Easy 8 miler tonight, as I added in some big bridge crossings to help prep me for the hills in my next marathon. Debating if I should do a 167 mile cross-state bike ride next Sunday instead of my final 20 miler (and just do the 20 tomorrow instead), but I don't want to mess too much with my running plan. Still, it would help me with my cycling challenge mileage goal.

Total: 21 miles
Goal: 145 miles
Remaining: 126 miles0 -
4/4 7.46 miles on 1 hr, 15 minutes
20.92 total, 63.08 to go.
Today I ran the Bloomsday course for the 1st time. I'm pretty disappointed in my time, but I have a few ideas for taking off some time. I think I need to work a hill workout in at least once a week, cuz it sure took me a long time to get back to a decent pace after Doomsday Hill. Anyone here doing Bloomsday this year?
Also, it was time for new shoes, but wouldn't you know it, I had them laced too loosely causing a sizeable blister between the ball of my foot & toes. Anyone have advice on how to quickly get a blister to heal?
