once a week first thing in the morning after going to the bathroom0

Fist thing in the morning would be most accurate. You haven't got much extra weight from food or drinks yet then. If I weigh myself at the end of the day it's kind of disappointing, but in the morning I know that what I am looking at is my real weight. I try to only weigh every few days and that seems to work for me.0

I need to weigh myself every day. I know this is controversial as it can fluctuate 1-3 lbs. I do this to stop shoving things in my mouth as I know I have to face the scale in the morning. I know from my own history. I lost my weight and maintained for a year. Then I stopped weighing and logging. A year later I have gained 20 lbs. I ate so I did not want to get on scale so I could eat because I did not know my weight. The cycle went on and on.
I am back on track no weighing every morning. This works for me. U need to find out what works for u but, u must face the scale!!0 -
Same time, place and conditions is key.0

This.
And I make a graph to see the overall trend, not the day to day fluctuations.0 -
As often as you think you need to0

Oh at least 6 or 7 times a day... So I can get depressed at how slowly I have lost weight and give up...ok sarcasm turned off.... I weigh myself as often taking off as I weighed myself when I was putting it on... No more than once per week.... Same day same time of day. Consistancy be thine name...0

I only weigh in once s month as I don't like seeing the fluctuations. I seem to to be doing well with this as I am down 7.4lbs this far within 48 days. I also don't have much to loose.0

As long as you are consistent and understand/ can deal with fluctuations then there isnt a right or wrong and you should do it according to what suits you. Chart it and you can see the trend, which is more impornat than a daily reading. In the long run its not going to come off unless you sustain the calorific deficits appropriate to what you are looking for.0

I weigh every morning. I have the fitbit Aria scale and it links to MFP so it updates my weight daily. I am really good at lying to myself so this keeps me accountable. I trust the CICO process so fluctuations do not drive me crazy like it does some people.0

I agree I am very good at lying to myself. That is how 20 lbs rejoined me!!!

I weigh & record weight daily, in the morning...after bathroom duties and before putting anything in my mouth (other than a toothbrush); i.e., no food or drink. Daily weight fluctuations can be radical (0.2 lb to 6 lb--& I weigh ~150 lb); so, I average the recordings for each week and look at the trend of my weekly average weight. The weekly average weight is my focus, if weight loss is my objective.
After a while, the daily weight fluctuation are no so alarming; i.e., won't cause panic and/or depression. The reasons for those fluctuations are quite varied: salt intake the day before, exercising within the preceding few days, bingeing on heavy food the evening before, etc.0 -
No more than once a day at the same time. Since your weight constantly changes due to food/water intake, exercise, and bathroom usage, it's impossible to gauge what exactly you weigh.0

Once in awhile.0

The most frequent would be 1x a day. Anything other than that is up to you.
Some people weigh daily so that they can understand how their body fluctuates and learn how to troubleshoot trends. Some people weigh weekly because they prefer not to see the fluctuations. Some people weigh monthly just as a check in or because they simply want to focus more on the process than the actual weight loss. Some people don't weigh at all (I don't recommend this if you are new because how would you know if you're being successful).
Its up to you.0 -
I weigh myself once a week, first thing in the morning after I pee. It's always a Friday morning - it keeps me from going overboard during the weekend.0

Once a week I find to be most accurate. Everyone has their own preference though. I personally find the daily weighings to be up or down too much. It discourages me and that is not what is needed when trying to lose/maintain weight. I need to be motivated.0

If you weigh yourself daily, add up all the fluctuated weights once a week, divide that number by 7, and there is your average weight for the week. Do that on the same day every week!0
-
I weigh myself Friday mornings after I take a shower/get ready for the day0

I weigh every weekday. Keeps me accountable. Weighing in once a week doesn't work for me, I get too complacent. But in all honesty, you have to do what works for you.0

I'm trying to break the habit of weighing on Mondays and weigh on Fridays instead because I know Friday will probably be my low point for the week, not after the weekend. It's taking some work to get used to.

I weight myself every morning after I get out of the shower. I have a Withings WiFi scale that automatically syncs with MFP wirelessly. Love it.
There is no point in weighing throughout the day - your weight will fluctuate from eating and going to the bathroom.
Your weight will also fluctuate from day to day, of course, but what you are looking for are trends. The Withings web site tracks your weight also and provides trend lines automatically.0 -
it doesn't matter so long as your are doing it at a consistent time and under roughly the same conditions. If you don't understand natural weight fluctuations I would suggest not weighing in more than once per week though.0

I like to weigh every morning as soon as I wake up. Its just part of my morning routine. I usually know it I am going to be up a bit or down depending on the day before. Weighing everyday helps me maintain.0

I can only weigh myself once a month for my sanity. I get easily discouraged with fluctuations and small losses.0
-
once a week, same day/time every week. imo everything in between is false advertisement and can just mess with your emotions.
some people like to track daily to see their fluctuations throughout the month, but imo a very limited group of people can really handle that emotionally and put the scale in perspective in understanding the ups and downs daily.0 -
I weigh daily, first thing after hitting the head.
The "right" answer is that it depends on (a) how quickly your weight is changing and (b) the accuracy of your scale.
If your scale is accurate to half a pound (most consumer scales aren't even that good, even if they show decimals) and you're losing/gaining at half a pound a week, you don't need to weigh more than every other week. If you're losing at 4 pounds a week and your scale is good to a quarter pound, weight every day.
Then there is the psychological aspect - many studies have shown that a big percentage of the population gets more pain from bad news than happiness from good news - if that's you, and you can actually stick to your dieting plan, weight less often so you're more likely to get good news.

I sometimes do every day after I go to the bathroom in the morning but I'm gonna start doing once a week tomorrow0

As often as you'd like. Regardless of whether it is weekly or daily, just get used to fluctuations. I think daily is better because if you weigh yourself only once a week, while you miss out on some upward fluctuations, you probably also miss some downward fluctuations and might have the impression you haven't lost when you have.
Some weight loss experts used to say weigh only once a week. Now many say to weigh daily because of the above comment and it also helps you stay on track psychologically.
But like I said, regardless of how often you weigh yourself, don't let the scale have too much power. Your weight will fluctuate. Look at the larger trend and how your clothes fit.0
