As long as all these creative gift ideas are flying around, what do you all stuff the stockings with?

We have boring stuff: toothbrush, hair things, nail polish, candy, gum.

Any fun ideas?

Jammies! like shorts and a t-shirt all rolled up, or a camisole/short set. Little gift cards to places like Subway or Blockbuster depending on the age. $1 lotto tickets were a big one in my family even when I wasn't 18 lol.

For my daughters, I usually buy some cute hair barrettes, a pair of those fluffy socks, some candy, a small toy or two, pencils, and one of those big peppermint sticks.
For my husband, a sack of coal and a pile of that fake plastic dog-doo.

For my girls, I got lotion, body spray, bubble bath, lipglosses, gum, a little chocolate, and a Webkinz.

I also got the boring toothbrushes, socks, underwear, tights, stretchy gloves & hat.

My Mom usually gives stamps and gift cards too.

for my 21 month old son: those bright rubbery tonka mini trucks, a big bouncy ball filled with water and glitter (it's a big one that won't fit in his mouth), and capri suns and fruit snacks, and of course a couple of oranges...

My stocking was always a sugar high waiting to happen. I LOVED my stocking.
I always got a key chain too, odd.
Jammies, yes!!!! and slippers. Always a good idea. And those puffy socks with the no skid bottoms, i love those.

When my parents gave me a car, they put the key in my stocking....i mean, it can't get better than that.

I always give rolled up magazines in stockings...also gives some shape to the sock, rather than a lumpy mess. You can get magazines for folks of all ages. Mittens, scarves, pedometer, wine stoppers (for the over 19 set...or in the US...21?)

I have put little bottles of perfume or cologne, incense or small candles, my son plays guitar so I would put strings and picks.
When I was a kid my mom always put oranges, apples, and nuts. I miss that.
This year it's lottery tickets for the grown ups and small toys for the boys. I got my husband a lucky bell for his Harley .

When I was younger my favorite thing to find in my stocking was bath-tub crayons. They were the best! And I would always get one of those shrunken washcloths that you put in water and they expand. That was the best! I was a really simple child tho. :indifferent:

No matter what you stuff it with, make sure its topped off with a big orange.

My MIL stuffs them with fruit. I always get like 5 starfruits....I hate starfruit. :grumble:

I always buy my husband some sort of hardware or tool for his stocking. Hammers, nails, screwdrivers, odd things like that he really enjoys for some reason. LOL

I always got an apple, and orange, and mixed nuts in my stocking with all my other goodies. Always reminds me of Christmas, the combination of those items.

The food in the stock is interesting to me.
One year my mom's new BF did my stocking for me...he put two shot glasses and a bag of dry rice in the bottom. That guy was an idiot.

Our kids get some candy (we've cut back a little on that each year... This year it's bite sized reese's), shower puffs, Yu-Ghi-Oh cards, a book, a couple of little dollar doo-dads. My husband is getting snowblowing goggles in his this year, then he can quit whining about how I didn't get him anything off his list... Big baby

DVDs, christmas ornaments, and definitely the scratch lotto tickets (Bingo or Crossword). Even if you don't win they are still fun to play.

The year I turned 19 my dad filled my stocking with those little mini bottles of Alcohol. Great way to commemorate the year I turned legal

But to understand the orange, you should read Frankie's Oranges, a children's book by Patricia Polacco (sp). I LOVE that book!!! (even though it makes me cry!)

For the guys, car door lock deicers! Socks for the gals, candy for all, and it wouldn't be Christmas without the traditional Chapstick in your stocking!

Target used to sell these little plastic animals, and they still might...they're made by a German company and are very heavy-duty and well made. They have dinosaurs and farm animals as well. When I was little I loved little toys like that, just a couple and you can play pretend for hours! A disposable camera is cool too, only about $5 and they can take pics of Christmas or school. Or a home-made coupon book for a day of no chores, or getting a special dessert, or something cute like that.
