    All calories do not impact your weight in the same way. Everything is relative to your weight.
    Test it out.

    Go on a high fat high, high sugar diet and eat 2,000 calories for 2 weeks.
    How much did it translate into weight loss for you?
    Go on a low fat low sugar diet and eat 2,000 calories for 2 weeks.
    Extrapolate the number. Do it for several weeks if you are not satisfied with the results.
    How much did that translate into weight loss for you?

    Again you can lose weight eating anything, but everything is relative to you weight if that is what you are trying to lose. Which was the OP question.

    What if you skip going to extremes and just eat moderate amounts of foods you like with the calories MFP gave you to lose your desired amount?

    I would gain weight eating 2,000 calories of anything everyday for weeks. I do lose weight eating the right number of calories for me.

    Hold one here a second.

    I thought we were talking about high fat/low carb and low carb/high fat.

    So apparently sugar is the debil, but you can eat as many carbs as you want.

    Can we have a high carb/high protein/high fat diet?

    Again you can eat less calories eating certain foods. It doesn't mean you can't lose weight eating anything, you can. It simply means you can't eat as much of it.

    It is a great equation, but in that equation the variables calories in have sub variables as well as there are sub variables in the calorie out equation that will change the answer.

    How long since you last lost weight? if its been more than 3 weeks then its time to tighten up the logging, it usually means we're eating too much, unfortunately :/
