You don't "kick start" your metabolism.0

The only thing that really increase metabolism is exercise and the gain of muscle mass. The first is easy to do, the latter is much is harder. I run, do cardio, and lift weights, and I love all three.0

I workout...I pump some iron a few days per week, do some sprint intervals once per week, try to get in some miles on the bike, and walk my dog a lot and otherwise just try to be generally active when I'm not sitting around at the office.0

What do you mean by pumping your metabolism??
You could workout to boost your metabolism .0 -
I do workout daily, either walk on nice days or treadmill but I work in an office and don't have much time to move during the day. Just trying to get ideas. Any foods that boost metabolism is mainly what would be helpful. Ty to those that are considerate0

There really aren't any foods that boost your metabolism, and those that might have a really miniscule impact on how much you burn (like 50 extra calories a day). Tracking your calories, watching your nutrition, and exercising as you can will do far more for you than loading up on a diet of these mythical metabolism boosters.

I don't think it works that way. No quick fixes - just got to do the work. Eat right and exercise!0

exercise for sure !!0

There are certain foods that boost metabolism like ice water and chili pepper, but the difference in miniscule. You are talking about 2-5 extra calories burned after each ingestion. You'll burn more than that blowing your nose or doing the chicken dance every couple of hours. Stick to what works (diet and exercise) and don't get lost in details. One of the reasons weight loss can be stressful is that people put in too much effort into things that provide no/minimal results.0

Of course doing exercise is the best way to boost up your metabolism. But I was told that coconut oil can also help regulating metabolism.0

Weight training - progressive and heavy
more muscles => faster metabolism
coconut oil - is oil made of coconuts - does it impact on your metabolism ...c'n I get a Hell NO!0 -

Do such a hard strength training workout that you have plenty of repair to be done.
Metabolism only higher during that repair process though.
More muscle gained from that lifting (which takes a long while) not much an increase while sleeping.
Estimated 6 cal / lb / day, compared to fat at 2 cal/lb/day.0 -

Lifting weights!0

I get plenty of sleep. I do chores. Walk the dog. Walk to the store. Go window shopping.0
