You will drop water weight really quickly doing low carb so it makes people believe they are progressing quickly.

Low carb is especially recommended for those with insulin resistance or who have been told that they are "pre-diabetic"...there are varying degrees of adhering to a low(er) carb diet - Dr. Agatson's "south Beach Diet" is one example.
