Low Carb and sugar

I'm so lost for finding breakfast and snack foods! I'm ok with eggs everyone once in a while but I really don't like them. Trying to cut back on processed dairy a bit also. Any tips or recipes would be AWESOME!

Greek yogurt, eggs, cottage cheese, milk, certain protein bars, ham (really all lean meats.) Crust free quiche. I used to like to do a little mozerella, red pasta sauce baked with an egg....sometimes added veggies.

Somehow I missed the no dairy, so that limits you a bit more.

Thank you. I have trouble finding yogurt, snacks and sauces without tons of sugar. Maybe I'd have better luck at a whole foods store.. I still eat maybe 1 dairy product a day. Juat cutting back.

Why are you trying to restrict food type?

celery and pb, natural pb usually has less sugar, cream cheese pancakes, there are tons of bread recipe variations on reddit /r/keto, berries and cream, almonds and pecans, beef sticks and jerky. It helps if you stop thinking in terms of breakfast having to be American breakfast food. What a lot of other countries have for breakfast would be considered lunch here.

Oh yeah, those are good ones.

If you are going low carb/sugar, that leaves fat and protein. Some great suggestions above. Try a chinese breakfast of dim sum, maybe a dumpling (gao). Get pre-made dumpling wrappers from a specialty store.

    Maybe consider beef jerky.

    What is processed dairy?

Any dairy that you didn't drink straight from the cow itself. ;)

I wouldn't consume any UN-processed dairy in that case.

OP, try plain yogurt, but with frozen or fresh berries. Berries are usually a good lower carb option because their glycemic load is very low. Raspberries have the bonus of having very high fiber. If you go for a 2% plain Greek yogurt, you get plenty of protein too.

I have 170 grams of 2% Greek yogurt logged for dinner tonight. 7 grams of carbs in the yogurt. I'm having it with 70 grams of frozen raspberries that I'll quick thaw in the microwave. I'll add a few drops of liquid Splenda. The raspberries? 4 grams of net carbs. Total sugar? 10 grams, and it's all natural sugar.

Processed? You mean like, ice cream, cheeses yogurts etc? If so you can probably find a dairy that will sell you raw milk.
I like some of the low carb breads they have, it helps when mixing things up a bit.
Also steak and eggs on the day you have eggs.

Yes, this is what I mean by processed dairy! Lol I know cow milk usually has more sugar than I would like. Thank you all for the suggestions, I bought unsweetened almond milk today and it was great! I also bought sugar free whole grain bread, it has 12g carbs though. Any other brands you would recommend?

I was advised by my doctor to cut back on "bad" carbs and dairy. I have IBS, adult acne, I'm overweight and have polycystic ovarian syndrome along with (borderline) high cholesterol He suggested natural oatmeal and no white breads, unsweetened green tea and Pure Via if I absolutely have to sweeten the things I eat/drink. He said it has antioxidants and no calories, just not to over do it.

All that medical information is pretty relevant when asking questions. You should including some of that in your opening question next time because it can help members give you more accurate advice. There are groups on here for people with PCOS, take a look at them, you can find some helpful advice there.

Will do! Thank you all very much, I was feeling a little overhwelmed with this new lifestyle!

Trader joes sprouted wheat bread has awesome macros. It has almost as much protein as carbs (like 9 carbs and 6 protein or something-don't have any on hand). Plus it has some fiber. It's the one in the yellow package.

I recommended it to my sister in law when she found out she had Type 1 diabetes. It's a great option if you're limiting your carbs. The macros are more like vegetables than bread!

    Gotcha. Good luck.

You might find a lot of help in the low carb daily group too. I think a lot of the people with PCOS are there as well.
