Tips on jump starting

There really is no jump start.
Just log everything you eat accurately, everyday. Follow your calorie goal, move more. Success.0 -
Find one thing to do differently - try new foods, exercise outside instead of in the gym, change your macros. Just one thing to break the cycle.0

You mean you are unable to start? Do it dont do it. If you cnat start then take it in small easily achievable steps and transition into it. COMMIT.0

What many people fail to realize and accept is the slow progress is still progress. We all want instant results, but the the main goal is not be perfect today, but better than yesterday. Pick a SMART Goal (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time bound ) with regards to what you want to accomplish, develop a plan to get there and measure yourself each and every day against the plan. Adjust accordingly. Make it a small one, and make it short term. You will be surprised what you can accomplish and what many side benefits you will receive if you hold yourself accountable.0

I would start by exercising. It makes you want to eat better so that your exercise doesn't "go to waste." Pick a day to start counting calories. Go ahead and pre-log the day before so you know what you're getting into that day. Or, just for kicks, log what you ate the day before. Sometimes, the simple realization of how much you ate then is enough to get you kick started. Make a list of where your problem areas are or things that trigger you to eat badly. Could be sodas or fast food or going out with friends. Look at how you can improve these areas and avoid the temptation to do badly. I like to have a rough idea of calories per meal before I get into it. That way, if I end up going out for dinner, I know how much I have to "spend." Calorie counting is like keeping a checking account. If you don't have the calories to "spend," opt for a "cheaper" solution or work a bit harder to earn more calories0
