    I notice the same thing about mine. I like the attention though.

    I try to keep my FL low too. So if soneone adds me I check out their profile, If I can't form an opinion (like if we have sonething in common etc) i'll add them & see after a couple of weeks. If we never interact I delete them. The only time I add people is if they,arw friends of friends & I like them from their replies

    I found this when I used to be on dating sites. I set up a fake profile with a pretty blond as the profile pic. The messages flooded in !!!

    lol thats gonna happen this is still a social site. im at a point now where the only people i request are the ones that are friends with all my friends. i just havent got to you yet but we have many mutual friends. its sad that people are like that but not everyone is

    Me too. The ones I see out there being awesome to others on my friends' list (and funny) are the ones I request. Sometimes I request someone who posts well on the threads too. I can always use more knowledge. I like variety and it has more to do with knowledge, wit and empathy than looks for me.

    Come on tell the truth.....You know the real reason you sent me a friend request.....................you love my awesome tan!

    so i did a little test on MFP to check something out, and the results, i have to say are sad. My profile is private. completely private, there is no way anyone can see my goals, weight, city, age, etc. so when i get requests they are at random with no message because they can't really say they have the same goal, or same city or whatever.. i reject most requests because i like to keep my friends lists tight knit, and i can't stand when someone requests me, then i see "joe bob hasn't logged in in over a month, he needs some envcouragement!" anyway... usually i will get from 1 to 5 friend requests a day when i have my regular pictures up:

    people werent getting my point, and getting to close to calling me a slut so i changed it. so that you get the point, that i am not always in my bra! loll

    in my openion that is a lot concidering they know NOTHING about me... literrally judging by a photo whether they want to add me or not..

    so today i changed my profile picture to this:

    just to see if i still got 5 requests a day.... now tell me why its already the end of my work day and i havent gotten even 1 request???? it kind of pissed me off to see that people judge ONLY by looks that much! so shallow!!

    HAHAHAHA thats kind of funny though, you have to admit. I add everyone and accept all requests :) and right on to the person who admitted they liked the attention =P lol

    or if they are in australia (there aren't too many of us, and i like hear kg instead of lb)

    or if they seem like they are similar, have similar goals, similar lives or similar family structure or whatever...

    i don't think i even have any boys of my friend list.... obviously with my status picture of my kids, i'm not an attractive prospect, but that's ok, i'm not here for the attention of men, there are plenty of other sites for that if it was so inclined.

    first of all lets get real its a sad fact of life, some people are that shallow that they see nothing but a pretty face, it is one of the reasons i wont post my picture.

    if i had a dime for every time someone said to me "you have a pretty face but......" i would be rich by now., brush it off and move on.

    i came to this site for encouragement and to meet new friends in my weight loss journey i dont care what you look like if your heart is in the right place and you are a good decent person really truly wanting to help yourself and others in this weight loss journey , and if you log in every day, share your toughts and encouagements then thats all that really matters to me.

    As a response to the OP... it IS sad and pathetic that people judge based on a single picture but you have to admit that on a fitness website you'd wanna have someone where you WANT to be to help root you on. As with all addicts when they recover they tend to be kind of preachy and judgmental and losing weight isn't much different. Just a different addiction that is quickly being divided into acceptable and disgusting (kinda like the pot debate!). It is what it is. I am more disturbed to get attention than I am to be ignored.

    As far as no one sending requests?? I'd be happier that way and would be more inclined to leave up old pictures.

    BUT honestly I think the whole friend thing on here is a little uptight
    I accept all friend requests.....and take it from there...don't care if their is no pic/message etc
    I put up, I think, some sexy but tasteful pics (no spilling boobage..sorry folks) and have never gotten an innap e-mail/..ever

    sometimes I think you have to expect certain reactions or responses based on what u put out there....and if that floats your boat...so be it

    To the OP - you are indeed good looking and I have noticed your witty posts here and there on the site...that said, I totally hear what you are saying and yes, it is disheartening that society is superficial and about looks. That said, I have an additional theory.

    My theory is that people go to the 'Find Members' page and randomly send out requests. After I had set my profile visible to "Friends Only", I was still getting some blank requests. The non-blank ones were from people posting on the same threads, etc., but I think that some people just click on "Find Members" when they join and select a whole bunch of people, just knowing that those people on the "Find Members" page log in regularly.

    Oh, my AV is usually the Froot Loops bird - maybe some people just have a classic breakfast cereal fetish! :laugh: :noway:
