Hi! I'm new to MyFitnessPal and I'm looking to meet women in their 20s, like me, who are trying to lose weight and get back in shape. I'm interested in sharing favorite "clean" recipes and work outs routines, as well as, participate in fitness challenges. Let me know if you are interested, I look forward to getting fit with you!

I'm definitely interested in all of the above!0

I'm in I'm 220

Good idea! I'm 200

Great! What are ya'll doing right now to be fit and healthy? I've been trying to eat clean-- I try to eat mostly eggs, chicken, salmon, tilapia, fruits and vegetables. My biggest challenge is consistency... I'll do really well for a couple of days and then completely fall off track. Anyone else have that problem?0

I've been doing insanity to stay fit. Today was actually my last day of my second round. Think I'm gonna do some Tahitian Cardio (hula) next week.0

@My_Butt I've heard that Insanity can make you "bulky"-- is the rumor true?0

Oh no. Not at all. I've completed two rounds and I'm small and compact. I have abs, defined shoulders, nice thighs, and I look very thin, even though I weigh 138lbs at 5'7".
It has a lot of cardio, so you're not going to bulk up.0 -
Even lifting heavy will not cause you to bulk up, at least not accidentally. It is VERY challenging for women to get bulky with weights-- you would catch yourself looong before it became an issue. I have only lost inches since I started lifting (from about a 26 inch waist to about a 24 inch waist).
And yes, as someone who has also done it, Insanity is basically all cardio. It would not be possible to put on a ton of muscle with that routine.0 -
@My_Butt @intangiblemango thanks for clearing that up! Maybe I'll give insanity a try! Right now I've been doing a combination of "heavy" lifting or hiit routines + cardio.0

That is very true. It is hard for a female to bulk up without taking steroids or spending hours at the gym. Anywho, lean muscle is very attractive.0 -
Hi! I'm new to this, but I'm 21 and interested. I'm just getting started and I'm going to start T25 the first of June.0

I'm 21 and have lost 27 lbs just by running daily and eating healthier.. I cut out all candy and chips.. I started by running 1 block of a street, walking the next and I now run 3 miles a day. My fastest time being 27 minutes. I made a group on Fb to encourage women in my area to come together and keep each other motivated and accountable! I'm going to start incorporating more exercise into my routine.

A few of you have mentioned T25 -- what is that?0
-
Hi I'm 21! Its nice to see I'm not the only young person trying to get fit this summer. So far I'm just trying to manage my calories and get 4 solid workouts a week. I've been doing turbokick at my gym which i really like. I've lost 3 lbs so far and have 17 to go!0

It's a beachbody program. It's like insanity, but it's easier and cut down to a half hour. A lot of people like the program.0 -
Is 18 okay too?0

@myweightloss2016 of course! Welcome!0

So people who are doing/have done T25-- do you also weight train and do cardio in addition to the 25 min workouts? Getting a great workout in only 25 minutes sounds amazing! I'm at the gym almost two hours between weight training and 30-45 minutes of cardio.0 -

Shaun T is the trainer, and he gets the calories scorched very well. He's my favorite trainer. You can lift if you wish to build muscle also, but you'll also be just fine doing only t25.0 -
I'm 20 and just starting to get into fitness. I've been doing Zumba, Blogilates, and taking walks. Hopefully will start weight training in small doses.0

I've been going to the fitness classes at my gym 5-6x a week! My favorites are spin, and a tabata style resistance training "definition" class. I've also been focusing on getting 100 - 130g protein and more omega 3s. My diary is open if any of you want food ideas! Also, feel free to add
Noticed that a lot of you do at home workouts, I used to love Jillian Michaels a few years back and got great results doing a couple of her dvds!0 -
Hey I'm new to this! I'm 26 does that still count? I train 6 days a week for mudhero, and just wanna be active and live a healthier lifestyle

Interested for sure I'm getting there slow but steady0

I'm 22 and also interested! I did Insanity with a bunch of my dorm friends and loved it, they all lost at least 20 lbs or more in the first month. I didn't lose anything but got a lot more toned. I have hypothyroidism and had just been diagnosed when we started, so I don't blame the program (how could I?!) for my lack of scale results. I'll take non-scale victories any day0

Hi, I'm 23 and have (over the course of about 2 years and being quite "on and off") lost about 30 pounds. At the start of this year I made a true commitment to living a healthy lifestyle and haven't turned back! After the semester ended I began working out and started insanity yesterday. I love swapping recipes and think this thread is a great idea. It seems pretty rare to find people our age on here. So yea... I'm in!0

Hi! I'm glad you found this "community" thread. I'm glad you mentioned your commitment to living a healthy lifestyle, that is KEY and something I've struggled with during my "weight loss" endeavors. I'll admit that I've tried many of the crazy fad diets out there and have finally learned that losing weight and getting in shape really is about changing your lifestyle and being committed to it. There are no quick fixes if you want to have lasting results.0 -
I'm 19 and would love to see healthy recipes too ! And fitness etc.0
