Men, what should a woman eat(or not) on the first date?

Who made women feel they have to worry about this?
Other women. I've yet to meet a man who complained about what a woman ate on their dates. The craptastic, sexist mentality that women are supposed to eat like birds in front of men comes from other women. Our mothers. Our grandmothers. Women's magazines.

I'm going on my first date with a new guy and I don't know what to order. I don't know exactly where we are going, but I'm asking not necessarily in regards to calories but more in regards to what I "should eat." Like what looks better- a salad or a burger?
Thanks!
we really don't care...
I once went on a sushi date with a dude. Ordered a huge roll because I had just run 3 miles and was starving. His comment to me? "Wow, you sure do eat a lot." I laughed, finished my roll, and never spoke to him again.
OP, order what you like. And if some guy gives you a hard time about it, pay for your meal and take your delicious food and leave.
I eat three rolls, soup and salad when I eat sushi. It's more than my boyfriend can usually eat. I know what you mean, you probably got a special roll and they're big but still..That's not "a lot".0 -
OP eat whatever you want to eat.
Funny thing is I am going on a first date tonight and also trying to decided on what is for dinner. Trying to save enough calories if I need to.0 -

Though I generally avoid eating spaghetti in public.
I mean really, if a guy is going to judge you for what you choose to eat on a first date, why would you want a second one?
This. And I agree, I usually don't chose spaghetti on a first date just because I have not mastered eating it like an adult.
I asked my mom the proper way to eat that in public for dates if I need that skill(in my teenage years). I rather eat something else all together.0 -

Yeah...and come to think of it, I never eat spaghetti anyway because it's my least favorite pasta.

I don't eat ribs or chicken wings in public (cuz I'm a beast in my own home), but I'm not out to impress anyone. If the guy asked me out, he already likes me.0

Why? There are better pastas. And I'm not going to order it unless it was handmade in the restaurant anyway.0 -

I don't think it's possible to eat spaghetti "like an adult"...0 -
Guys, I don't want to alarm anyone, but I think I've just discovered a time traveler from the 1950s. Don't startle her, I want to ask her some questions about why everyone was so obsessed with making aspics for dinner parties.
Seriously, though? I'm kind of shocked that this is actually something so many people seem to have put thought into. I don't think I ever even thought much about what someone I dated ordered, unless it was "ooh, that sounds good."0 -
Depending on how it's going before you order.
If it's going well, don't order anything that will give you bad breath. Garlic and the like.
If it's not going well.... Garlic it up!
Other than that, I don't believe in pretense. Order what you would if you were eating out by yourself.0 -
No haggis, tripe, head cheese or legumes. Other than that, whatever you want.0
-
If you aren't going to put out, small side salad and water. If you are going to put out, steak, lobster, side of pasta, bottle of wine.
But seriously, whatever you want.0 -
Okay I'm going to say it...Everyone seems so shocked that she asked this question, but when I was overweight, I definitely felt self-conscious about what I ate in front of men. There. Said it.
Also the OP never came back so maybe this was all for nothing.0 -

Oh, and garlic and raw onion. Just in case the date goes well
See now, those two things are staples in my diet... im going to order what i want, and if he doesnt like onions or garlic, he can kick rocks or order some mint ice cream afterwards lol

OP is not a woman I want to date. Ever.
Why on earth should this be important?0 -

Totally. Boxed pasta I can make just as easily at home.0 -

I am sure you date women who are insecure in other areas.
