Pickles will do it for me most of the time. If not then I have to have cheddar ruffles. I buy the tiny bags and eat slowly . one . at . a . time.

I'm happy with any low/no fat carby crunchies that don't involve olestra (read: stained pants) as long as I'm okay with the texture... they're getting doused in greek yogurt anyway.

This is my trick too! It's an activity and a snack at the same time ;)

    Single bag of chips.

Or Quest chips, I love those, although I know a lot of people don't, lol.

Ok so last night I bought a bag of Garden Veggie Straws rosemary and olive oil flavor. They weren't bad and satisfied that crispy-crunchy-salty want.
    Still--not chips.
    Winning the war!!

But why? The problem with chips isn't the potatoes, it's all the oil they are fried on. Calories are probably similar with veggie chips... might as well have the real thing.

I honestly suggest eating chips. It's mostly about the serving size. To me, nothing tastes the same. I've eaten the baked ones and the healthy versions, and pop chips and cracker chips..... they aren't the same. Try to buy those little lunch box size of pringles or the tiny bags at the dollar store. I also buy the big box of tiny chip bags, they are sorta the Halloween type size. Eat one, be done with the craving..... it will return and you will be equipped with a pre packaged portion. I think any time you tell yourself you can't have something, you will crave it even more. Have some... just not a ton and always add the amount honestly to mfp!

It's easy to make oil free microwave chips. I line the plate with silicon coated baking paper. I also slice the potatoes in a food processor or mandolin. They continue to crisp as they cool.

Single serving bags are hard to find. Usually the packaging has 2+ servings in it. I am still torn on the chips idea. Regular potato chips are still potato and veggie chips are veggies and bean chips are still beans.

No matter how they are cooked (baked or fried) it is still caloric and you just have to plan them in your day just like chocolate or ice cream for dessert.

My new love is Beanitos and also Skinny Pop (naturally sweet...NOmNOmNom) and they are just as "carby" and salty just like Golden Flake or Ruffels. So if you are going to have a chip, have a chip. Count them out and put the bag away...

    A little self control...

I feel addicted to chips. That's my red flag food. It's full of salt and oil and has no real nutritional value. Because of those reasons, I'm trying to give them up. But that's me.

I crave chips! I can ignore if for a few days or sometimes satisfy it with popcorn. But eventually I give in. What are your favorite ways to satisfy that crunchy salty craving?

I just found seaweed chips at the store. Great alternative. Also you can make your own chips out of a whole bunch of veggies.

I have no shut-off valve when it comes to chips. If I bought a small bag, and finished them, I'd be right back to the store to buy more. If a bowl of chips is at an event, I do my best to stay away, but as soon as I eat one (haha...you can't ever eat just one), then I am the one snorfing back the whole bowl. I have to stay away because I love them too much. So...I actually hunted for a thread on chips so I could see everyone's great suggestions. Popcorn is my go to when I do need to have something.

veggie straws. You can have a whole plate full (about 80 or 28g) for only 120 calories + 11g carbs. And they are low sodium

I manage to fit in 28 grams of my favorite Wavy Lays into my food plan at least two or three days a week. I'm still maintaining; I just have to not have my dark chocolate or a glass of wine that day. Discretionary calories are there for a reason.

I think making sweet potatoe wedges/chips really helps. Oven cooked and u can still add the same salt and vinegar or whatever.

They sell those bags that are meant to go in kids lunches. I get ours at Trader Joe's. That's how I buy them for the kids anyway, so they stay fresh and so the kids don't over eat them. I just have a bag of chips, but to be honest? In the seven months I've been restricting calories, I've only wanted chips once. I just had a bag then. It was only 150 calories.

I eat veggie chips or popcorn. I haven't had an actual potato chip in a long time.

They don't give the same crunchy satisfaction though! Good alternative to fried fries/hot chips...

I like pop chips.... They satisfy my craving for crunch. Or rice cakes but the cals aren't much different. Quest chips are good too, only BBQ flavour, the rest don't excite me much :p

I've made zucchini, beetroot, carrot and sweet potato chips and kale chips in the dehydrator. Not quite as satisfying, but pretty good for what they are.

The only chips I like are Cheetos. Oh, they are so good, yet I don't crave 'em for some reason.

My weakness is chips/salsa at Mexican restaurants. Note to self: "Self, stay away from chips/salsa."

    Think that'll work????

It's funny, I actually prefer chips to sweets but since losing weight-I find that sweets fit into my calorie goals easier. I used to never buy chocolate bars, now I do all the time. Chips rarely work though-I like the whole bag.
