Are there any foods or drinks you don't log the calories in.

I personally don't log things like diet coke or flavoured water and I'm curious to know if others do similar

Can't see the sense if they are zero calories?

All food is logged, and drinks without calories (or with minimal calories.)

If I was drinking litres of diet drink I would log those, but I only have a glass /small bottle on occasion.

I don't log spices unless making a big recipe with tablespoons full of spice.

Just spices. I don't measure them out so I don't bother. It's kind of silly if you consider that I weigh and log stuff like lettuce and onions that have similar calories.

Franks Red Hot, any small quantity spices. I do log the spice blends that have a corn starch base - they have a lot more to them than people realize, even with just a teaspoon or so.

I don't log coffee and tea.

I also get some powdered drink mixes that are about 5 cal/8 oz serving. I don't log them, but I'm not drinking enough of that stuff in a day to make a huge addition to my totals.

Diet colas, tea with splenda, mustard (does mustard have calories? lol) <:: I suppose it does. But sometimes, I will log them as zero cals, if I feel like it. I log everything else.

    • crystal lite
    • mio
    • diet soda's
    • sweetener packets
    • seasoning (I tend to forget. I do log it sometimes just to see the effect on sodium)
    • hot sauce
    • mustard (forget)

I'm sure there's more, but you get the gist of it.

Anything that's 0 calories. If I just have 1 bite of something, sometimes I won't log it. I also frequently forget to log my Diet Mtn Dew, which has 10 cals per 20 oz.

Mostly what others are saying here: diet soda, green tea, fake sugar packets, sugarless gum, vitamins, medicine, spices like basil. At the very most those could possibly add up to 20-30 calories a day and that isn't going to make or break a day and would just be annoying filler.

I would only log diet drinks if you are tracking your sodium intake. Or maybe you want to see how much you are really consuming to determine if you should eliminate them from your diet.

Coffee and spices. Spices because I don't use that much and honestly, I have no idea how to log them, considering they don't give nutrition info.

I definitely log mustard, the one I use has 15 calories for 10g or something.

Stevia drives me nuts though... I don't log it, but if I could find the nutrition info for 100g, I would... otherwise it always says 0 calories, even though it's more. Same with Splenda but I very rarely use it so it's less an issue.

Powdered stevia with erythritol? Look up natvia - they have nutrition info for their Powdered product, and the little tablet sweeteners

I log cough drops, those things can be 15 calories... have 3 or more a day, and it adds up :(

Coffee (black for me) and tea. Multivitamins. Balsamic vinegar, soy sauce or mustard - about 20 cal in a day for me of one or the other usually.

The reason I don't log all of the above is not because it's low calories - I will log for example a third of a teaspoon of honey :) but because they are low *and constant* for me calories - I will always get those few calories from these condiments and black coffee and that is not something I am willing to cut out.

Regular splenda does have carbs and there is an entry in the data base to account for it. I've switched to a liquid sucralose. No carbs in that, so extremely minimal calories from the actual sucralose. I don't log that.

I also don't log diet soda or small quantities of spices, or things like the single piece of popcorn I ate yesterday.

Oh... and sugar free gum. I know it has calories, but I figure you burn it off by chewing it.

I leave a buffer of at least 30 calories every day for all this little stuff anyway, so I figure I'm good.

I don't log tea and coffee (both with skimmed milk but no sugar), but I'm very new to this and I'm still in the initial "woah, the weight is coming off faster than I thought it would!" phase. I will log these when I get nearer to my goal, or if my losses stall for a while.

Dear friends, stop drinking diet soda! It's a killer I'm sad to say. I drank it for, well, for all my life (I'm 60 now), and it has the exact opposite effect you'd expect. All "Light" products with aspertame are awful for your health, and why lose weight if you are going to be sick from it ... just saying. Also, switch to stevia (Truvia, etc.) or at the minimum Sucralose only, and quit the chemicals. I'm reformed, and I know it's hard because I had to stop my addiction too, but PLEASE consider your health along with your weight loss! Sorry for my preaching, but I suffered from that addiction and now am clean - drink naturally flavored, fizzy water (makes me think I'm drinking soda) with NO added anything, and I feel great. Now my addiction to potato chips, that's another thing entirely LOL!

I don't log unsweetened drinks: black coffee, black tea, unsweetened seltzer...if it has sucralose/similar in it, I do log it however. I also log anything sweetened (lemonade, gatorade, diet soda, etc)

I don't often log coffee(I attempt to log it every day, but some times I just plain forget.) I am often under my calories and I try to stay under anyways to account for my errors :)
