Got so busy at work today that I couldn't go out for a colleague's good bye lunch and had nothing to eat. I avoided the vending machine of death and local pizzeria, and waited until I got home to eat a late lunch. There have been times when I thought I might die if I didn't eat every 3 hours. Not anymore.2

My insurance requires overweight people to enroll in these coaching sessions to manage your weight to get "points" that basically reduce the cost of your insurance. They base it on a number of factors, but I had to enroll for high cholesterol and high BMI. Today, I was able to have an "early graduation" because the coach said my results thus far have exceeded the program expectations & therefore, I do not have to complete the coaching sessions and I get the points. I don't know why, but I have tears of joy. To have someone acknowledge this small success (I have a long way to go) seems to be the greatest joy I have felt in such a long time. She asked if I wanted to still call back, I joked and said "why not, it's my free time to brag about myself!!" LOL! But, I probably won't call back, since I don't have to.
Congrats! This is amazing!

I have started a new routine... there is an Applebee's 1.7 miles from my home. I've been (once a week) walking there, having dinner. and walking back. My weekly splurge keeps me on track the rest of the days. Getting in a good 3.4 mile walk doesn't hurt either!

I've been better at listening to my body. I actually upped my calorie goal because I had been really tired and fatigued. I have been working out a lot (Im at the tail end of half marathon training, so lots of running...) but as a rule I dont eat back my exercise cals. So I upped my goal a little and I'm feeling much better and have also learned to eat some cals back on long run days. for me this is big progress! It also helped me bust through a mini plateau, which is a bonus!1

The last nonstop mile I ran was the hot chocolate 5k in November 2012. Today I went out with a goal of running 1/2 mile and felt good so I ran a full mile. It was 13:18 pace so not fast at all, but I did it! I've been pondering doing c25k again but decided to just try running on my own and am glad I did because I wouldn't have reached this point until the end of July!
I started walking on may 25 and making sure I get 10-15k steps/day. I ran 1/2 mile inside at the gym twice last week and decided to move my run outside because I feel so artificial running inside!
I feel ready to sign up for a 5k now!0 -
I can finally wear my wedding AND engagement ring.... I haven't worn the ering for a long time and was a goal!1

This is perhaps the best NSV I have seen in awhile! Feeling so good that you went farther and took it outdoors because that is what you like!!!!!

Today I planned to do my first 10k. Knew I would be walking at some point. I ran the first 5 miles then started walking. My previous was only ever a 5k.0

I can finally fit into my 12 year old jacket , regretting why did I throw away all those pants and trousers.

Having 2 bags of clothes to donate because they are finally in the "too big" pile!
Going to a baby shower for a friend over the weekend and having several people comment on how good I looked and how "little" I'm getting (at a size 16/18 I'd hardly consider myself little but ok).0 -
I have 2. The first is that my thighs which have uncomfortably rubbed together for a year now just graze. And the second is not quite as positive. I bought some clothes just before starting which fit me perfectly now they are loose still fit but my bum doesn't look quite as good. Although it looks better with no clothes on1

For the first time in my adult life I wore a swimsuit yesterday that did not have a skirt or shorts attached and had absolutely no "slimming" effect. I can wear regular styles now and feel good about it! (Best thing is I bought 2 swimsuits on clearance last year at the end of the summer and they still fit me now- maintenance is possible!)4

I wore a structureless cotton jersey maxi skirt to breakfast yesterday and was not self-conscious about needing to suck in my gut to make the skirt look nice.1

I can put my hands around my neck (thumbs and forefingers) comfortably without feeling like I am strangling myself0

I can run a 5k without being completely breathless and sore. Also upped my time from 40 minutes to 30 minutes . Just signed up for my first 15k in November and feeling pretty confident when normally the idea of running 9 miles would make me nervous!2

I got up at 6:15am to go for a run. I've been getting up early for a week now to do this because it's so hot where I live but so far, that's been the earliest.1

I've been working out on my own with free weights in my building gym in addition to going to a strength training class once a week and yesterday, I actually did a few arm exercises using 15lb weights. Before that I was topping out at 12.5lb.
And people are starting to comment about my arms on a regular basis.1 -
I can actually feel my hip bones and collar bones now.1
