I was researching green tea today since I keep hearing how good it is. It has something to do with having a lot of antioxidants in it. You have to drink a lot of it, around 6 to 7 cups a day and the effects are still modest.
Per Google: "Feb 5, 2015 - 'However, to get the dosage required may require close to six or seven cups of green tea a day. 'The 571mg capsules tested contained a daily EGCG dose of 400mg. 'In essence, our study showed that the use of a green tea extract could potentially help people to lose weight, if combined with exercise."

No, drink it if you like the taste. No magic fairy foods.0

Nope. If green tea were some magic weight-loss elixir, don't you think we've have a lot thinner people? Green tea, in fact, all tea has an anti-oxidant effect and is thus good for your health, but it won't cause a person to lose weight. There is no magic except eating less.0

k thanks, didn't think it was true, as everyone would be drinking it lol0

No . Just another myth.
As you know, calorie deficit for weight loss. And patience: )0 -
Green tea is for quenching one's thirst. Caloric deficit is for weight loss.0

It helps me immensely but not because it has magic weight loss powers. I like the way it tastes and it specifically helps me control my nighttime snacking.0

Caffeine has a (very mild) effect on metabolism. Like, you drink a few cups, you might burn an extra 5 or 10 calories that day. It's a case of "technically, yes, but in reality it makes such a tiny difference it doesn't matter." Stimulants in general suppress appetite--again, a tiny bit. At the end of a year, maybe you'll have lost a single extra pound.0

Green tea and coffee both have natural stimulants and appetite suppressants, which of course only give an edge if you are eating and just the right deficit. If you try to use it to eat too low, it will backfire because your hunger hormones are more powerful that the appetite suppressant. It's a tool if used WISELY.0

Emefpee city needs you.
Seriously, green tea is not a fat burner, just like no other foods are. Is it delicious? Yes. Great in ice cream, cookies, chocolate, and lattes?? Double yes. Should it be a Tim Tam flavour? Debatable. A fat burner? No.0 -

0.07 Calories per minute for 3 hours = 12.6 Calories total for a TON of caffeine.
Seriously, it makes practically no difference.
"Significant" doesn't mean "a lot." It means statistically significant. Chew a stick of gum, and you wipe that out!0 -
^^Yeah, what @MamaBirdBoss said. Plus, those were very small test groups. There is nothing to suggest those results were not due to chance.
Oh, but green tea cured my bunions and made my neighbour's dog stop barking. It's true!0
