What has been the hardest thing for you to give up?

I never gave up anything. Back when I was getting into better shape I ate everything in moderation.0

I don't think anything has been too hard to give up - if I really want something I try to work it into my diet or I just consider it a "gain" for the day, log it, and move on.
What I really miss is eating foods without thinking about calories and how it affects my weight.

Hmm...nothing in particular. I didn't really give up anything though. I did enjoy a good night of drinking, then coming home to a big bag of chips and waking up with a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel. I don't really miss it though. I can eat a smaller amount of chips and have bacon and eggs still. And a bagel if I wanted I guess. Now I don't understand the question.0

Time with my friends...they always want to do stuff during my training time...0

Mountain Dew. I know it's horrible for your body. But it tastes so good. I miss it.0

Milkshakes. I had been in the habit of getting myself a milkshake while my oldest daughter was in her gymnastics class and my youngest napped in the car. I'd park in the shade, read a book and enjoy my shake with no one bothering me.
The shakes I was getting were 500 calories, not awful for a milkshake, but not something I can reasonably fit on most days. I replaced it with other snacks and recently decided to use that time to ride my bike on a nearby rail trail. But I do miss my quiet reading time with a milkshake.
Now if I want a shake, I split it with someone.0 -

All the XL t-shirts I had collected over years of traveling all over the US. I wear smalls now.0

@David_2015 nooooo for my taste, it's just no good, I'd rather just not have mayo.
But I was practically raised on diet stuff in the 90s and rebelled on gaining my independence0 -

Candy and cookies would be mine. I don't do well with either. I can't just stop at one or two pieces, I have to have them all.0

Presweetened cereal esp. Captain Crunch. I can't do it in moderation. Used to be three bowls at a time. I just can't have it in the house.0

I haven't had a bagel with butter in four months. I could plan around it, but I'm sure I wouldn't be satiated.0

Mindless grazing due to boredom has been hard to stop.0

Fireball shots with cider beer. Just way too many calories.
I agree that "everything in moderation" isn't for everyone. Anything with a lot of sugar such as cookies or cake I just can't have. They trigger binges. So I don't have them. I also have to be very careful with pasta and rice.0 -

Yep, probably my biggest problem too - especially when I am trying to study. I know I'm not hungry but once that packet is open I just have to keep going till its empty....
So I try not to buy any snack stuff or have any in the house. Some weeks are better than others!0 -
A lifetime of eating with no regard0

The mentality that I was not capable of eating anything and everything in moderation. I had to give up the fact that it's not a personality trait - just something I hadn't practiced and learned yet.0

Only thing I have given up is eating my feelings.0

I eat everything. Thursday nights when I play 3 hours of beach volleyball I seriously eat everything in sight...now that's a killer burn, so I make that my main cheat day. Other days, 20 mins on the step mill and an hour of weights gives me an extra 400-500 calories a day of flexible eating. I usually try to keep my fat under 30% of my nutritionals though.0
