Ran in the heat of the day (upper 80's). There is a cold spring about 30 minutes from us. We ran the park trails to the 52°f water for a dip and ran back. Down hill all the way back plus being cooled off was very nice.0 -
@JoRocka - love the pictures and you are right the chosen background is... interesting for those pictures
@skippygirlsmom - we are still neck and neck with 2 days to go
@ddmom0811 - I am the same as well. Running clothes and shoes first then whatever else will fit. Works fine unless it is a business trip where I have to have the 'right' clothes and only a small carry-on suitcase.
@Aresende90 - Yay for 7 miles with hills not less! Great job!!
@Elise4270 - That is the way to do it! Run to where you can go for a swim and cool off and then run back all cooled off!
So glad I got my long run in yesterday! Today was hot when we got up, hot at the dog beach and hotter when we got home. Well over 90 this afternoon and very humid (for CA)! Ran and walked 2 miles on the beach with the pup and we all played in the water just to stay cool. I am not much for ocean swimming but it felt great to just get wet.
I saw a great t-shirt today that said 'Sore today, Stronger tomorrow' - love it!0 -

This challenge is not a competition (as I don't think most folks could keep up with @isulo_kura anyhow). Still, it is getting tempting to try to sneak in a few extra miles in the next 2 days with the glut of 6 of us ( @WhatMeRunning @shanaber @skippygirlsmom @Harpin_Maddog @autumnblade75 and probably @briebee7 ) all in the 120-140 range at the moment0 -

Too funny. I've been reminding myself to resist the urge to run this morning as its a rest day ahead of a planned record mileage week. Then I read @Ohhim posting about people's mileage.
Must resist.0 -
Had a local all comers track meet, last week, so took the family and we ran the 1 mile. They had to do 3 heats, they had so many 1 milers. I was last place, but happy with close to a PR. So, yesterday, didn't have the car so went jogging right from my front door. I used to do that all the time when I first started last year, but hadn't for months, I usually drive to a park to jog nowadays. Surprised to find the jog was easy, all those hills weren't as challenging as I remembered :-). I am happy with progress. I am nowhere close to the athletes at the track meet, and yet, getting real comfortable running....thanks for letting me share again. I am going to let my iPhone track my miles in July.0

I haven't posted here in a while, but I have been running, just not as much as I planned. I think my last post was just before my half. I ran the Deadwood Mickelson Trail Half Marathon (hubby ran the full) earlier this month. Beautiful course - all but the last 1/4 mile was on a gravel trail through ponderosa pines and sometimes the trail followed a creek. The last little bit before the trailhead (and finish) was paved. I started out great, but a steep downhill section about halfway through caused my IT band to tighten up (I aggravated it the week before) so I ended up doing a run/walk for the second half. My time was decent, not as good as I hoped but faster than I was on the road a year ago, so I can't complain. I took some time off after the race and my IT band seems fine, but a hip/lower back issue I've had for a while continues to get worse. I forget how many miles I planned to run this month, but I'm at 50 right now. Today is a rest day after yesterday's run/bike/kayak (4/16/4 miles) with our running group.0

@ shanaber It's like having virtual running partner.
I was thinking the same thing about the couple of extra miles but then my tired legs and common sense kicked in this morning ha ha! though there is always tonight no no I'm going to resist like @whatmerunning
@missmelis98 great finish to the month, maybe you didn't get to goal but you put in great mileage
@daisy471 first congrats on the HM awesome! sounds like physically you had a rough month, I hope July is better
@robertdupuy they had on of those 1 mile races here I think it was last weekend, what did you think of the overall experience?

Is there going to be a July running challenge starting tomorrow? I found this thread too late to join in this month so I'm really hoping there will be!0

Going to be short this month after hitting last months 70 mile goal. Leg pain is really getting me down. I think I will aim a little lower for July and hopefully heal up.
