doesn't matter, water is at best incidental to weight loss (it's more about hydration and health) and the things you may have read about the energy cost of drinking cold water or ice are usually out by a factor of 1,000 as they didn't spot that a "calorie" is actually a kcal.0

It doesn't effect weight loss, but I always opt for room temp water because I can drink more of it than icy cold water.0

I find warm water is best, because whenever I drink warm water (usually if I haven't left the tap running long enough on cold) it's so utterly disgusting it completely puts me off eating or drinking anything in the near future.
But if you'd rather not drink exclusively horrible water, then there's no difference.0 -
Your caloric deficit!
Sure, ice cold water need to be warmed up by your body to reach a temperature equilibrium, and this may involve the expenditure of a few extra calories a day.
Is your new reality going to be that you only drink ice cold water?0 -
Doesn't matter - just drink it!0

I belong to a really hot country so chill cold water to drink is a blessing for me but I m not sure how it worlds for my body and weight loss.0 -
It really has no impact. Drink it however you prefer it.0

Ice cold water gives me stomach cramps, especially on an empty stomach so I prefer room temperature water.0

I think whatever you like the best will be just fine. I do cold because I enjoy it more therefore I will drink more of it0

whatever you like......

The temperature of water is not going to alter weight loss.
I prefer ice-cold water, even in winter. If I can't get that, then I'll settle for room-temp. I can't stand drinking warm water - it makes me retch.0 -
I live in a very hot country so cold water is what I live on...can't get enough!0

Cold water, unless it's been mixed with coffee.0

Temperature doesn't matter and water won't make you lose weight unless you replace caloric foods with water.0

Why do people believe this makes any difference at all
Personally I like my soft drinks room temperature ... but I don't mind cold
White wine has to be cold though
And coffee hot .. like my m... oh never mind

Just drink whichever you enjoy lol0 -
The amount of calories you burn 'heating' up the ice cold water in your body will make less of a different than little food tracking errors (1 or 2 grams too much, average nutrition info, etc) throughout the day.
If you really need to drink ice cold water in order to be in a proper caloric deficit, your diet need revisioning.0 -

I'm the same way. I'd much rather drink cold but I can find myself always drinking more when it's room temp.

I don't think it makes a difference what the water temperature is for weight loss.
I prefer drinking cold water and drink it this way all the time. I would drink room temperature water if I had to. Plain warm/hot water would be icky to me and I would drink very little of it.0 -
Warm water is gross. I like cold water.
I can drink room temperature soda though, so my husband calls me a nutter when I freak out about room temperature water.0 -
Boiling.
You have to drink it boiling. It burns a lot of calories. And by calories, I mean your esophagus and the lining of your stomach. It's really a great way to lose weight, since you won't want to eat anything for a while.0 -
It can't make enough difference to matter.
I like mine with ice, in a Tervis tumbler.0 -

Really?
The temperature of water has zilch to do with weight loss. The only thing relevant to weight loss is eating less food than your total daily energy expenditure.0 -

Wanna lose 1200 Calories a month? Drink a liter of ice water a day. You burn the energy just raising the water to body temp.0 -
