Hi!

Is anyone doing or done the 200 sit-ups program? It looks good so I've decided to give it a go. I started it today at got 25 in my initial test.

I'd love to hear from anyone what I can expect, or what results you've had?

Thanks!

I also just started this program this week! I'm also doing the 100 push ups and 200 squats programs and am alternating days for all three. We'll see how it goes!

Does it matter if you are doing cruches? Or are you talking full blown true sit ups??

Well done JustBreathe! You're def beating me!!

I started the push ups one last night - only got 6 in my initial test - oh well I suppose at least there's room for improvement!!!

MrsSchmidty - it's crunches they say to do, apparently full sit-ups are not recommended as they can injure your back.

This is the website - http://www.twohundredsitups.com/

There's also iPhone apps (I'm a bit of an iPhone geek!) to keep track of how you're getting on.

Haha yep I love the apps too! Although I have a Blackberry :P And to answer your question MJ, I only do crunches and not the full sit up. On the website, they say that their program uses crunches or curl ups instead of the traditional full sit up because of risk of spinal damage. Thank god for that because I could probably only do ONE real sit up haha. I also started the 200 squats program too! Orginally I was alternating days between the 3 but now, I've combined them and spend about 30 minutes doing all 3 programs, 3 times a week. That actually works out a lot better.

Let me know how its going for you girls! Push ups are the hardest for me it seems...never realized how WEAK my arms were haha.

Push ups are def the hardest for me too. I'm trying to do the proper push ups (not the 'girl' ones!) and I am ready to accept it may take a while, but def worth giving a go!!

I usually do my exercise in the evening but I'm awake bright and early this morning so may get on with them soon!!

Good for you for trying to do the proper push ups MK! I am totally still doing the "girl" ones haha. I think after I complete the entire Push ups program once doing the girl push ups, I'll go back and re-do it and do the real, proper push ups.

You should start the Squats program too! It might seem like a lot doing all three but it's really not because you are working completely different parts of your body. If you just spend 20-30 mins doing all 3 it's like a whole mini-strength training session.

Hmmmm... JustBreathe you might have just convinced me! I just tried the initial test for squats and managed 35! I'll give it a few days and think about doing it!

Yes Mikeast, check it out! Keep us posted on your progress

I know this is off topic but have any of you guys done the c25k program or one hour runner program? I think I'm going to start the one hour runner program so that I have a cardio challenge in addition to these strength training challenges!

    Yay! More people!!

I've not done c25k but it sounds like a good idea to mix some cardio with the strength. I have ran a few 10ks (in very slow times!) but it's just something I've done by myself. I think if I knew of any of the programs when I started jogging they would have been really useful. Hope it goes well for you, and if I can help with any jogging questions do ask - though I'm by no means an expert!!

    Hi,
i'm doing the sit ups, squats, push ups and tri dips! lol thought i would go the whole hog as im going on holiday in 3 weeks!
think the full body press ups are dead hard! just had to do 12 in a row so now im having a rest! hehe
I don't really enjoy running so i used the cross ramp, circuit training and zumba to get my cardio. Whats a c25k??

Well done Ruby - that's fab!

Wow Mikeast - gold star for effort definately!!

I think C25k is a program that basically gets you from no exercise (couch) to running a 5k in a certain number of weeks.

Great job Ruby! Keep it up and let us all know how it goes :)

Wow Mikeast, that is hardcore haha. I thought I was being ambitious by doing the squats, push ups, and sit ups at the same time but you've one-upped me for sure! The dips do seem really hard though. I think I will wait until I'm done with the push ups before doing the dips. Do you do those on the same day as the push ups?
