Others of you were also closing out left and right tonight too so there was definitely some solid spam here. The only spammer name I saw was the Floyd dude!

Cept did any of you notice, it's not the same type, it's like a person joined and are imitating spammers. That person (let's call him Floyd for fun

) is using the same type of thread title but in the message it's just "ddddddddd or sssppppp or eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeE ROFL So that seems a bit odd since most of the India spammers are posting their promises to us in the message box with phone numbers. It's almost like this dude is doing it as a joke now!?

Anyhow...anyone else seen this guy and his vowel sounds?

I think sometimes the spam bot just glitches and doesn't include the link or even real words. If I see a spammer with multiple posts, I not only flag it as spam, but I also use the 'report' button, reason other: mass spammer, to make sure they get blocked when the mods get back online.

I'm not familiar with Floyd

So when we kill spam being the #5 flagger, it just goes to the moderator queue for further action. That's where the post gets reviewed and the spammer account is banned - maybe deleted. This is the same reason people needn't worry so much about their posts being incorrectly flagged since it gets reviewed by the mods first if it ever accumulates five flags. Doesn't stop the whining, though

Didn't see any spam in older pages of "Recent Discussions". Maybe they're all gone now? Mine only shows followed categories, so any specific category that needs flagged can be helpful to know.
