I need to put on 3lbs to stay within my 5lb buffer of my revised goal of 160. I'm currently at maintenance but looking at a slow recomp.

I probably have about 18 pounds to gain overall, and I'm going to shoot for 25 more in muscle and 7 less in fat.

1st GW 132 then I will evaluate from there

I have 3kids but all teens so not their fault - it is all me - I am sweet tea-aholic and have a desk job. I am trying to get healthy for the 4 th time in my adult life. I really think this time my head is in a better place - taking it really slow but I can't say I am not fighting the thoughts to give up because the results are very slow..... but I have a busy life and do what I can when I can.

I started on 12/29/2015 at 337 and restricted myself to 1300 calories per doctors orders. My BMI was 40. I haven't done any exercise yet because I have a neurological disease and I am just lazy. I plan to do some strength training when I get to my goal. I am 16 pounds from my goal, but I might lose another 5 pounds past my goal, IDK yet. I don't have much muscle mass because of my disease so I will need to work on that. I am planning to eat at maintenance for a while and come up with a plan on what to do next. I've been using MFP since the beginning and plan to use it for maintenance so I don't gain back weight as I have in the past.

140-145 may sound low for 5'8 but I'd like to have a little wiggle room in case I want to have a pizza one night
I was 147lbs when I started dating my husband 12yrs ago. I'd love to be there again. Haven't been in the 140's in 12yrs!!

    Good luck to all

    GW 125?

I am going to start building muscle as soon as my body fat percentage is lower so I will probably go back up in weight.

I have 33 pounds to go! Haven't seen the 130s since 2007! I've been maintaining 160-170 all this time, but it's too much for my frame.

You can do it! I want to get to 170 and then try and go down from there!!! Stay focused, finish strong!

Well this is hard for me, but here goes nothing.

    Height: 5'6
    Starting Weight: 477.0 lbs
Current weight: Unsure, I haven't been anywhere to weight yet as my scale at home won't register
    Goal Weight: 400 lbs.

This was a HUGE step for me. So please no negative comments.

You most definitely won't get any negative comments from me, and I am pretty sure most of the people on MFP! We are all here to encourage and motivate each other. Feel free to add me! :) I would definitely like to help keep you motivated!

I did the same thing first time around and lost 25lbs and started to build muscle and the scale went up. That was years ago and didn't realize then that muscle weighs more than fat, so now I do both strength training and cardio every week.

You can do it! You sound like me also. When I met my husband 11 years ago, I just had my first baby girl and I was down to about 165. Now after the second baby, I am at 213 and want to get back to the woman he met. Although we both have gained a few pounds since then...LOL. I think my weight loss will motivate him as well.

Eight pounds away. :) As for tips I would say logging, eating at a reasonable deficit, drinking plenty of water, not depriving myself of foods I love, and moving on from days that I've unexpectedly eaten over (no focusing on them or trying to make up my overage). Those are just things that worked for me. :)

yeah I do strength training and lift weights now. I want to gain muscle but also want my body fat down. I lost the majority of my weight with diet only so I lost a lot of my muscle too

These are great tips! Thank you! I find myself trying to makeup for the extra calories I eat with exercise, sometimes it's stressful and other times not so much.
