ENERGY FOOD BEFORE TRAINING

Hi all,

Anyone ideas of foods to boost energy pre-training?

I usually train around 5-6pm and am feeling sluggish. I eat dinner about 1pm and usually only a piece of fruit in between?

Guessing I need more to eat but need ideas......

    protein+ carbs

    I usually eat small amount of fruit or something with low carbs protein bar quest Then a pre work out drink. Or a small cup of black coffee with little sugar if any to get me going

    low carbs? I find carbs lie on my stomach - but I need something for energy. I do have some protein bars might try those.

    Don't generally drink coffee do you think tea would have the same effect? ha

    It's the caffeine you're going after, so maybe a second cup of tea.

    Maybe crackers and cheese? Not terribly high protein at about 12 grams, but it's pretty light.

    Banana and PB on english muffin? Smoothie with some protein powder? Whatever you choose, give yourself a good couple of hours to digest before your workout.

    I'm trying greek yogurt today with almonds and grapes.

    Will give your ideas a try throughout the week :-)
