Have you tried eating every two to three hours. It dramatically boosts your metabolism. So have breakfast, then couple hours later snack, couple hours later lunch, then snack, then dinner. Hope it helps.
This is incorrect information. Meal timing has nothing to do with weight loss, and it certainly does nothing for metabolism.0 -
Are you getting enough water? Sleep? Maybe you need to up your calories? Are you eating back exercise calories? Some don't, others do, other people eat about half.
"A week" not showing it enough time.
Are you taking progress photos? Taking measurements? Sometimes seeing nothing on the scale can be annoying but still loosing inches etc
What do you mean by "discontinued all the diet"? Are you just eating healthier instead of a diet? Needs to be a lifestyle change.
The bold part--that's not the answer. If you're not losing weight, you decrease calories.0 -
Hi all.....I'll just jump in....looking to support and to be supported! I guess it's appropriate to share my story here??
I'm 68 and have been fortunate to have enjoyed good health most of my life. Over the past ten years things have taken a downturn due to a) getting lazy and b) genetics and c) the aging process. I have Fibromyalgia, CREST syndrome (a rhumatalogical arthritic constellation of issues), degenerative disc disease, stenosis and sciatica. October I decided to get a grip. To date I've lost 17 pounds and begun working out again. Going to gym, walking on treadmill and swimming for now. Late April I had a corpectomy and cervical fusion of vertebrae 4,5 and 6. I am in pretty much constant pain but I can manage it. I'm 5'1" and weigh 112. I am committed to being fit and strong. I need to surround myself with like-minded folk.
Would love to connect with Baby Boomers committed to living life to the fullest despite our limitations, sharing ideas and what is working for us.
My Fitness Pal has been a great tool for me.0 -

That's not how it works. Exercise calories need to be eaten back, at least most of them. You're already eating in a calorie deficit, and the calories from exercise make that deficit even larger. When that deficit is too large, you lose too fast, and lose lean muscle.0 -
I'm Very Confused.. Mtp says I'm so posed to eat 1300 calories a day. An I added 6 90 minute works outs a week to help make sure I'd lose it.. I'm confused becaus I have been thinking that this was being done correctly.. But now some mention that I'm so posed to also eat back half of what I worked off.. Isn't that beating the purpose?? How would that work.0

I already explained that. The calorie deficit to help you lose weight is built into your MFP recommendation. If your TDEE is 1800, for example, and you want to lose 1 pound per week, you need to eat at a deficit of 500 calories per day. So MFP will tell you to eat 1300 calories per day. (1800 calories - 500 calories = 1300 calories). If you are exercising, and burning 500 calories per day, that adds to your deficit, as a negative caloric number. So now that 1300 calories is only 800 net calories for the day. That's too low. You'll lose weight too fast, and lose lean muscle mass as well as fat, and if you do it long term, can even damage organs.
You eat back the exercise calories, to bring your deficit back to the original number. This is one reason why we say that exercise is for fitness, and to increase the deficit so that you can eat more.0 -
Remove the confusion. Use TDEE. Don't worry about exercise burns.
Eat 2000 calories a day (or a number of your choosing). Weigh and log accurately. Don't deprive yourself of the foods you enjoy eating. Don't follow arbitrary rules surrounding foods and macronutrients.
Review in 4 weeks, increase or decrease calories depending on weight-loss seen, adherence issues, and physical performance.
