*Snowflakes to Sunshine* FINAL Weigh-In 6.3.11

So many lovely stories! I am so jealous of those runners doing their 5k's and mini's. I can't run more than a block or two, but I have increased my strength, my endurance, and my confidence in my ability to live a healthy lifestyle long-term.
Thanks Krys for this challenge. It was long enough to really make a difference. A month or two challenge would have been too easy, and then I could have given up, but 5 months made me stick to it even when the weight wouldn't budge, and get through the emotional time to a point where I can say that losses aren't everything, but eating better and getting regular exercise is.

27 pounds down, and 8-11 left to go to be at my preferred weight. During this challenge I achieved a normal BMI, a healthy body fat percentage and healthy waist measurement. I went from a size 12 to a size 6-8.
Thank you to everyone who stuck it out on this challenge. Your support kept me accountable.0 -
I really can't wait for the next challenge. I really need to focus on workouts and my daily eating habits. I find that I can do one or the other but when it comes to doing both I run into trouble. Thank you everyone for their support and motivation. Congratulations to all of you and hope to see you in the next challenge.
Starting weight: 161lbs
Current weight: 157.2lbs
Definitely not happy but will continue in my journey.0 -
Definately not the way I wanted to end this, but it is what it is. I'm learning new things about myself and learning there is A LOT I have to work on. I'm hoping the next challenge I will find myself. I need to do some deep searching within to find what is eating me (or causing me to eat! LOL)
I'm so proud of those who have finished the S2S challenge blowing there 40 lb goals out of the water.
And to the others who did awesome as well, Congrats!!
As for me, I lost a measley 5.8 lbs in 5 mths! That really makes me wanna cry.
I just wanted to say that I really commend you for sticking with the challenge. You have had a lot going on and despite that you didn't quit on us, or this challenge. This is a journey, and we are all here for you to take the next mission on our journey together!0 -

Wow Wow and more wow! You have done a wonderful job my lady! You should be so proud. The BMI and the sizes that you have dropped alone are remarkable achievements and the 27lbs is the cherry on top! Awesome work!0 -

I am happy about the loss of 15.8Lbs. Even though I could have done a lot better. But coming weeks I will be focused and I will acheive my initial goal weight of 150. In this 6 months, I have acheived which I thought was next to impossible. I did a 5K, officially two 5K's. Currently this month I am focusing on doing a 10K for my daughter and a half marathon in August for my husband and next year I aim to do a marathon for ME. I want to believe I could do this.I will give my best.
Krys thanks for this friendly and well organized challenge. This journey with you guys has been wonderful. I got inspired by looking at so many motivated people. Great job on your losses and enjoy the summer.
Great job girl! And good luck on that 10K. I am always jealous of you runners out there lol0 -
Just reading and responding to you all in this challenge has me choked up! You have all accomplished so much. I’m so proud to have been part of this group Thank you Krys for creating it, to Whittrusty for putting together the awesome spreadsheets and thank you to everyone for the support, encouragement, and love! I end this challenge with 38lbs and 20 inches lost. I started at 223lbs and ended at 185lbs, thinking back to the beginning it seems so long ago! At the same time this challenge seemed to fly by! I’m looking really forward to starting the next challenge with you ladies, to stay connected and focused
Love you all!
Xoxo!

WOW girl! You melted off those inches! That is amazing, and wonderful loss! You did so good!0 -
Well for me...
Starting Challenge Weight: 221.8
Last Week: 209.4
Current Weight: 203.4
Total Loss of 18.4lbs since the beginning of the challenge. Is it 40lbs...nope, but I am happy!
You should be happy! Amazing! Congrats Krys!!0 -
Well ladies...we made it! It is a very bittersweet feeling to know that this challenge has come to an end. When I first started this challenge, I had no clue how many people would be affected by it. I didn't know how many people would actually participate, and I definitely did not know how meeting all of you would completely change the destination I decided to go in life.
I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for everything! Your dedication, candidness, and positivity has greatly inspired me. I owe it all to each and everyone of you for helping me to see what my passion is now, and that is helping others get healthy and realize how worthy they are to live a life of true happiness and discover their self worth.
So please enter your weights one last time, as a Sunshine. Post your measurements and final pictures to this thread. Be proud of your accomplishment. For those that lost the 40lbs, AWESOME WORK, truly amazing how you guys fought for it every week. For those that did not lose 40lbs, including myself, I think the best accomplishment is that you did not quit on the group, and most importantly on yourselves.
I can't wait to start the next challenge on June 13th. I hope all of you decide to participate. However, for those who do not...I again THANK YOU for allowing me into your lives, and for coming into mine.
Be proud of yourselves ladies, because I sure am proud of you!
You are amazing thanking us! I thank you! Even though I did not lose what I had anticipated and totally fumbled up these last few weeks, i enjoyed the many friends I made and the encouragement of the group!
I am looking forward to your next challenge!0 -

I do want to join the next challenge. I wasn't as active in this one as I should have been but I will try to talk more in the next one lol ... So I will be on the look out for it.

I lost 10 pounds! I will take it and moving forward. It is better than a gain overall! I do wish it would have been more but oh will.
Congrats to everyone!! Good job for all of us who stuck it out until the end.......:-)
I am ready for the next challenge. I probably will not be doing the measuring thing. We will see. I have never been good at that. Besides I have a lot of excess skin in some areas. If I do measure it will only be waist and hips. I never know just the right spot to measure arms, thighs, bust and calves.0 -
Starting weight: 228
Today's weight: 188
Total loss 40 lbs. ON THE MONEY!!
I am terribly sad this challenge is over but I am ready to keep on keeping on with the next one. You all have been an incredible inspiration to me and I cannot express my gratitude to those who have kept me focused and on task. And Krys for starting the whole thing... OMG there are no words! I was thinking about it the other day and I have no idea how or when I even stumbled across this group or what motivated me to become a part of it. But I do know I am 40 lbs lighter because of it and my emotional health is 40x better. I am a happier, healthier person. And am very grateful. :flowerforyou:
Congrats to you all- You have all done very well weather you reached your 40lb mark or not. I look forward to connecting with more of you on the next challange. I think it's going to great! XOXO

We may have to think of a new name for our next challenge. I just noticed there was already a group called the Midsummer Meltdown and it may cause some confusion between the two groups if we are called the Summer Meltdowns.0

Oops, sorry, yesterday was a very busy day and then I fell asleep before I could post.

Well, really, bouncing around in the 157-point-somethings. The end of the challenge means a new phase for me -- I'm getting into a body shape I haven't been at before, am starting to feel a lot happier with my body, and have to adopt new strategies. I am starting to look and feel "normal" -- sure, 13 pounds over the BMI-25 threshold, but still. Even though I'm losing a lot less these days, the body fat percentage as measured by my scales is suddenly down 2 points. So something good is happening.
What all that means, of course, is that the 5 months of the challenge have been fantastically successful for me. Not because I actually reached the 40 pounds, pretty much exactly -- this just happens to mean that 40 pounds was just about right for the trajectory I was already on. If you had set the goal for 50 pounds I'd have missed it, 30 pounds I'd have overshot it, but probably I'd still have enjoyed the challenge exactly as much. What it did was to keep me on track, and I've said it before: Thanks to Krystle and everyone who helped her, and thanks to all for supporting each other.
ETA:
1. I forgot: SW was 198 pounds.
2. I forgot to say - I'm so very admirative of all of you that have increased their fitness during this time, whatever the result on the scales. That's my next project!0 -
MFP Start Weight 12/21/10: 193.9
S2S Start Weight 1/2/11: 191.1
Current Weight 6/4/11: 176.4
Total Loss to Date: 17.5 Pounds
Inches lost:
Neck: 1"
Upper Rt arm: 1"
Bust: 3"
Upper Ab: 2.5" (fat roll above my waist)
Waist: 2.5"
Lower Ab: 3" (fat roll 2" below waist)
Hips/Behind: 2"
Rt Thigh: 1.5"
Well, wouldn't you know that I would have tom at the end of this week. I am retaining water, but I wanted the weights to reflect what is, not what will be in a couple of days.
I am still hoping to be down by 25 total before our June 26 trip, but I'm happy that I can fit into some of the clothing I had put away in hopes of actually losing enough weight to get back into them.
The inches numbers above are not much different from my mid challenge numbers and I realize that to get those inches off, I really need to work out more and get some strength training in which I haven't even started doing.
Thank you, thank you, thank you so very much to all of you for your support and a kick in the hiney when I need it !
Krystle you have been wonderful to set this up, and whiterusty thank you for keeping the spreadsheet going!! I'm really looking forward to the next challenge - think it sounds GREAT!!
Cheers to all the Snowflakes for seeing the challenge through - even the smallest success is success!!! :drinker:0 -
Hi Sunshines
MFP - Start Dec 25th - 205 lbs
S2S; - Start Dec 31st - 203.5 lbs
End Jun 06 - 158lbs
lost total - 47lbs (45.5 for the challenge)
I've lost .6lbs this past week and like Teresa said I have to learn not to lose weight now
but the biggest culprit was my tennis. I played singles matches this week instead of doubles.
I'm working on maintaining the weight now and will up my calorie intake to 2000lbs now
Although I'm not going for the 50lbs weight lost, I'm very very happy with 2 things I accomplished
First it was to finish the challenge and Second was to be able to fit on a size 6 ( I actually bought my SECOND capri pants size 6 this past week)
I have much much to thank all of you girls (Specially Krys for putting this challenge together
My husband brought the camera home and tomorrow morning I will try to take the "AFTER" pictures toi post here. (Can't really do that with my iphone)
I will be back later
Love you all

I gained half a pound from last week. I only lost 8lbs for the challenge and I have to say I'm not happy with my weight loss progress, but I am very happy with my personal progress!!! I have become more comfortable in my skin, and I can see a difference in the way my clothes are fitting, and I have even been able to fit into some of my pre-pregnancy clothes which I have been working on for almost two years now!! I am so happy to have met all of you and I can't wait to start the new challenge with you ladies!!!0 -

Hi Ladies!
When I signed up for this challenge I thought it was a great idea and hoped that I would see it to the end... and a big surprise to me I actually completed something I started! Thank you for your friendship and support during this journey. I have learned a lot and appreciate everyone in this challenge. Thank you.
When I started this challenge I believe I weighed in at 230. Today I am 198. Never thought I could do this, but with your support I was able to.
This challenge has helped me in so many ways, and am down 32 lbs! When I started up (again) I was doing it to show people that there was something wrong with me and it was not possible for me to lose weight.... I guess I can.
I am going to continue with the next challenge. Thank you Krystle.
Congrats on being in onderland!!! Awesome job!0 -
Great job Mollie on your progress and taking those measurements for the next challenge
Nice loss Kimmie
Amazing 5K time Emma! Wooo!
Jacki-I totally understand, and I am glad that you will be back for the second challenge!
Amanda- Don't worry about the pounds, we have another leg of this journey together and you are going to do great!0 -
Ok, so I am going to post the new challenge thread. Even if you have already told me that you are "in" for the next challenge on this board, can you please respond to the new thread so that I have an accurate list for Whittrusty. I am only going to keep the forum going for about a day and a half to prevent having another 150 people lol.
We can't use the name summer meltdowns because there is already another group that has that name. Thank you forgiven4life . So the name is....
Summer Sweeties to Fall Knockouts0
