IIFYM

To all of my fellow IIFYMers:

When it comes to counting sugars while following IIFYM, does it really matter if you go over for the day? I've searched all over the internet for information and have had zero luck finding anything on this. Currently I am set at 45 grams (seems a little high), just wondering.

Also, if you eat Quest Bars, do you log it as net carbs or total carbs? I've read up on this as well and have seen information saying total carbs is the most important, but I have also read that you can log it as net carbs. Thoughts?

Unless you have a medical reason to count sugars, they are irrelevant.

I would log as total carbs.... As I understand, carbs are carbs in IIFYM

Good carbs (from fiber, whole foods) are obviously better that straight up carbs from sugar though :)

    Understands that "carbs are carbs"

But "Good carbs are better than straight up carbs"

i don't track my sugars, but i do track total carbs.. unless you have a medical reason to be mindful of your sugar intake it doesn't matter

Carbs are carbs. That's it. Period.

I track net carbs for quest bars.

I don't eat a lot of processed stuff. My biggest concern was the sugar in some of the fruits I eat. Even though it's a natural sugar and not processed crap I just wanted a little clarity.

Sugars fall into place usually. If everything else is under control.
