Cursive writing not exercise?

I wrote a note to my daughter's teacher, all in cursive, tonight. My hand hurts. Surely this is exercise, right? Why can't I find it in the database?

Depends on how many plates you had on the pen

I paused while loading the dishwasher to do it so I'll count it as four plates.

I can get mean writers cramp, I still have that little bump on my middle finger from writing a lot, but alas I really don't think it counts as exercise.

Yes but it was over so fast it didn't actually register anything, unfortunately.

Were you writing in cursive before you started weight loss or is this a newly added activity?

i feel like everyone here is being mean to the OP. just because it's easy for you doesn't mean it's easy for everyone. you people that have always been thin and have ripped abs need to stop condescending on those of us that have to work a little harder. She may not have done much, but something is better than nothing right? We should all be more supportive and stop what we're doing to give the OP a big round of applause for beginning her fitness journey.

Why would you write curse words to your daughter's teacher?

ETA: I think if you were writing them in anger, there would be a higher burn because your heart rate is higher.

I hope you did your printing warm ups before you jumped right into the cursive. If you don't know how to do that there's lots of free material on YouTube. My favorite warm up is "R's" and "W's". Start with a really light pencil- it's just your warm up.

Like Jack's bean it seems there is some magic in your 'hand writing' activities.

idk if our teachers even know how to read cursive anymore. they don't teach it to the kids. I was paid to help grade tests and the students couldn't read my notes to them. smh

They do still teach cursive. Or at least at my boy's school. I guess I need to write more letters in cursive. Sounds like a killer workout.

I heard if you take caffeine pills then write a shopping list in joined-up writing you can blast 500 calories of fat right off your abs.

    Excellent!

(My daughter's school taught cursive in 2nd grade. I have noticed, though, that they are not required to use it on a daily basis. Any essay she writes is printed rather than written in cursive. Their standardized test essays this year in third grade we done at a computer, meaning that they had to type them out.)

Even my forearms hurt after a good writing session, it is so worth it! Especially when working the non- dominant hand. Gotta keep me even.
