Have you had children yourself?
Usually by three months, if not regularly breastfeeding then a mother's milk supply will have dried up. Trying to get your supply back purely for the purposes of losing weight is just ridiculous.
I doubt this person has children from their flippant comments, not everyone can breastfeed so to say it so casually is ridiculous! I had an awful time trying to breastfeed and was upset and felt so guilty for not being able to for weeks. I agree with ARC1603 for someone to try and get their milk supply back just to lose weight is wrong.makhouljoanne wrote: »Breastfeed ! You will lose weight faster !

No I don't have children but i am a lactation specialist. I did not say that mothers should breastfeed just to lose weight!!! I said it helps but breastfeeding has soooo many benefits to the mother and the child. Every woman can breastfeed and to keep your supply, you have to keep on breastfeeding exclusively for the first 6 months and then continue till two years or more while introducing foods.
Next time u have s child, ask a lactation consultant to help you with the positioning of your baby.

I am not q lactation consultant but my friends call me the boob whisperer because I help everyone with latching and feeding issues. Such a great job you have! I love helping mothers and babies.0 -

Not everyone can breastfeed. I had 3 children by c section had a lactating consultant, went to clinics, took domperidone, ate all the boob foods and nothing.
You might want to adjust your judgment meter...0 -
And being a lactation consultant not having had children is like going to a mechanic who doesn't know how to drive. He may be able to empathize but never sympathize with having a car in the shop.0

Same here. I was overweight already before my pregnancy. My biggest motivation is also to be able to play and run with my sunshine. You can do it! Just take one step at a time

I didn't with my second one and enjoyed motherhood so much more and lost weight by having time to do things with my children. It's all relative. Not everyone wants to bf or is capable or able. No matter what or who they see. The judgement is absolutely unnecessary or those who do and don't. As long as the child is loved it does not'tmatter. Lecturing about bf is not motivating.
I'm back here now because my first born (who was bf) has leaukemia and i cope by eating my body weight of chocolate.
Everyone needs support and we are all here in this together.

Hi everyone! Currently trying to lose 45 pounds. I was 145 prepregnancy and now I'm 170. Hoping to get down to a healthy weight. My baby is currently 8 months old. Anyone who wants to add me, please do! I'm always looking for more friends0

Hi All,
I have an 8 week old baby and really want to make the most of the 'new year buzz' by getting my weight under control before it spirals 'out of control' - I am aiming to loose a couple of stone to start with and then see how I feel once that has been achieved. I would love to make some friends on here who are in a similar situation ....0 -

Haha you are doing an awesome job as well! Sometimes women stop because they need help and milk will become dry if dont keep on breastfeeding. It is the Supply and demand theory but of course some mothers might go through sickness or they need to go back to work and can't pump at work. We try our best! I work with the refugees and their babies recover from illness due to breastmilk0 -

You are totally right! But I didn't just study in the book. I have spent 3 years so far helping refugee mothers breadtfeed and succeeded. This is why i believe in the power of breastfeeding. However, Some mothers cannot breastfeed due to many reasons but this percentage is very low.I am not trying to judge anyone, sorry if it sounded like that. Of course u were and will be ready to give the best nutrition to your baby. ❤️0 -

I would love to. And I tried... Except, I wasn't a high milk producer, and when I went back to work - I dried up.0 -
But also, the comment about breastfeeding wasn't really helpful on this post. And this post wasn't directed to you. You are not a mother trying to lose a lot. This is about support and motivation, and not to make people feel bad about not being able to breastfeed.
I do not comment on threads of men trying to gain weight for muscle building, because that not what I'm trying to do. Maybe, minding your own, is something you should look into.

Tried extremely hard to breastfeed both babies, I educated my self to the extreme for the second one. Turned out I didn't have enough breast tissue to make a FULL supple for my 10 pound baby
So now here I am, 4 months later, lifting weights and eating right and enough times a day 95% of the time! Would love to add some of you for motivation!0 -

It had nothing to do with the "postioning" of the baby!!!, I was very ill and was re admitted to hospital a week after getting home therefore could not breastfeed and by the time I was able to try again my son was not interested in breastfeeding and wasnt getting enough from me and got very distressed everytime I tried!!!!.
I am well aware how breastfeeding works in theory but like I said before not everyone can do it for a multitude of reasons and it was a very upsetting and distressing experience for me and my son!!.

You do not get to decide if you made anyone feel bad. They get to decide that. You can spout facts out all day long. If you spout them in a conversation that has nothing to do with you, or what it is about then -- You, Ma'am, are not concerned. This post had nothing to do with breastfeeding until you hijacked it. It has to do with women trying to lose a LOT of weight after having a baby.1 -
I have an 8 week old and have to lose 33lbs to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I was fat shamed by my GP and it has given me extra motivation .0
