Place lean pork roast in crockpot. Pour juice off jar of sauerkraut and dump into pot. Pour bottle of beer on top and cook until pork is tender. You can make dumplings to go on top after roast is done. This is our good luck Pennsylvania Dutch receipe for New Years. Really tasty!

I do that with Kielbasa, and I add a few potatoes.

Beer Cheese soup is pretty delicious on cold nights! Not sure how diet friendly it is, but maybe it would work as a side dish instead of the entree.

    My favorite beer recipe:

1 bottle of your favorite good, craft IPA
    1 bottle opener

Use bottle opener to open bottle. Consume directly from bottle.
For a twist, pour into a pint glass first, then consume.

    :)

I second beer cheese soup. It's also very good if you thicken it a bit and use it as a sauce on pasta.

Pretty much any slow-cooked pork I do includes a beer; as do any sausages (bratwurst, etc).

Chicken breast in the crock pot. Use beer instead of water. Chicken can be shredded and used in or on just about anything.

cider is also good for pork roast with rosemary, pears, mandarin oranges and apples. Bake 350 2.5 hours, drain off juices and boil them in a pan til thick with a little flour to make the perfect glaze.

As for beer, bread is great, 2 cups self rising flour, 1 tsp honey, 1 tbsp butter, 1 bottle beer, mix, pour into a bread pan, bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until a knife comes out clean.

Non eating you can use beer as a footbath. No calories there. Oh and in an emergency you can use it to de-ice windows of your car.

If you have dark beer, like a guiness, it's great for braising meat. It's also awesome in a chocolate cake - but that might not be helpful.

I always put beer in my chili as well.

I love guiness cake! Don't have any guiness on hand though :)
