My goal is 1800, and I'm slowly losing a little. I tried lower than that and I just couldn't do it :( This way I have a little wiggle room for treats or days I feel super hungry. Anyone else on the same path can definitely add me!

I eat 2000 to gain lol. I can lose at 1500 though. It's my sweet spot but I need to be super accurate because my TDEE is only 1800.

I lost my last 19lbs on 1600/day. I have increased it to 1700, and depending on results will reevaluate and possibly increase again in another 10-15lbs lost.

I'm 142.2lbs, trying for 138 or 140. I have MFP set to lose .5lbs a week, which puts me at 1,560k, and I eat 80% of my Fitbit adjustment.

I'm eating at 1660 cal to lose 1/2 a pound a week. I started out at 1200, moved to 1300 in the summer, but I'm now at the 1600s because I ended up dropping the healthy eating attempt for months because I felt restricted/couldn't work in treats. People are free to add me, or just check out my diary because it's open. It's not at all a pillar of good health though. But it's working for me haha.

My maintenance is right around 2000 (more with my Fitbit sometimes) and I aim to stay below that daily. Some days the deficit is larger than others, but I almost always eat over 1800 cals/day. Anyone can feel free to add me!

I came to the realization this weekend that I'm failing miserable at 1500 cal/day. So I decided to try 1800/day (0.5 lb/week). I am very frightened to do this, so I was so happy to see your thread! Anyone doing this, feel free to add me.

Wow seeing all these comments has me worried! After entering my info the suggested was 1240...I thought that was too low so I set my goal for 1350, but usually eat around 1400 a day. Just started last 2 weeks ago. Lost 2 pound though! So confused I wonder if I should eat more ?

I've lost my first 50 lbs while eating 1800-2000 calories a day. I don't follow IIFYM, I just go by MFP settings eating back my cardio calories. I've done both but found MFP easier for me to follow, but both programs do work! Right now I'm eating 1400-1600 daily, sometimes even more depending on the day. Still losing

Everyone is different. If its working, you are losing and getting good nutrition then why change it? Unless you stall, are starving all the time or start working out more it seems you are good. Just remember different strokes for different folks.
  • I'm at 1980 calories. Sending you a request. Anybody else can add me as well!

What people often don't realize is that even though MFP sets goals low, you're supposed to eat back your workout calories. If you start too low, where will you go from there when you hit a wall? IIFYM is a good way to go if you're worried about eating back all your workout calories. You can also start by just eating back half of them if you're worried about eating too much.

I'm 1700 and change although I haven't really been eating all of them. Would love to have "friends" supporting each other. I've used mfp for a few years but this is my first time using the "community"

This will depend on a lot of things, height and age being two of the factors. Some peoples TDEE is below 1500.

I'm set at 1500 calories per day and eat all my exercise calories calculated by my Fitbit. If I follow this, I lose fairly consistently.

at 1825 and losing. As long as you stick to hitting your macros and exercising at least 4-5 times a week for at least 45 minutes at a high level of intensity, you should lose.

I eat between 1500 and 1600 calories every day, and lose between 1/2 and 1 pound per week (have lost 37 pounds so far. I exercise 6 days per week, and lift weights so I feel pretty revved up. I'm in my 60's and this works for me. When I was younger I could eat more calories and lose weight, but need to moderate more now. I don't want to lose at a faster rate because then I feel like I'm on a "diet" as opposed to a plan for life.

    1. How much weight do you have to lose?
    2. How tall are you?

I have lost 80 lbs in a year and eat between 1800 and 2000 calories depending on my activity level that day. I don't understand eating so little. Your body needs fuel & the weight loss process needs to be sustainable! Feel free to add me everyone :)

What goal did you tell it? If you tell it a half pound a week, it'll give you more.

Mine is set for 1550. I have lost 15 pounds. This is a really good calorie amount for me. I'm losing and always have enough calories for the day without feeling hungry.

I'm almost at goal weight (or at least I was before Christmas) so am on 1600-1700 to get back there. My BMR is 1500 so 1200 boggles my mind!

At one point I was on 2500+ and losing (I had a lot to lose, was breastfeeding and exercising)

It depends what kind of exercise I do on any given day. Depending on the exercise, I will eat back a portion of the calories as long as I keep a deficit of anywhere between 300 and 500 calories. It's slow weight loss but seems to work. I've lost 1 pound in two weeks. Lately, I've fallen off a little so I need to get back into exercising every day.
