I honestly didn't track in the beginning. First, I started portioning my food (only using small plates and bowls.. Measuring with my fist). I lost 50lbs in the first six months. Then I put 10lbs back on because I was eating "garbage" still, just smaller amounts. In July, I came down with a gallbladder and lower intestine infection. From there I started eating only raw fruits and veggies in order to cleanse/detox my body. After a month of that I felt so much better, I never looked back. I cut out dairy, gluten, meat, caffeine and refined sugar all at once. All for health reasons (I have several medical issues that affect my digestion). The weight started falling off. Once I hit my goal weight of 115lb, I joined the gym. I walk casually any time and anywhere I can and I do yoga and bodyflow at the gym. While increasing my activity, I also increased my protein and water intake. Since November, I've lost about 5lbs but more important... inches. Believe it or not, I only started tracking once I hit my goal weight because I wanted to STOP losing. Plus, I needed to manage my calorie intake, macros and nutrients. I hope this helps.2 -
