Okay, joined this quest of 20 lbs off by Easter or March 27th back on December 30th. Gained 3 lbs from celebrating the New Year...it wasn't that good. But am in a full 30 days now and I have lost a total of 6 which really was 9 but not going to beat myself up over this. Started a new job which has wrecked my workout schedule, adjusted my food and am looking for some where, where I can squeeze in a few more workouts. Currently weekends are all I can muster and I am really loading up those two thin days. I feel great though, since I began my journey in June I dropped off 45 lbs, it takes time.

Down 9.9lbs since January 4! I'm thinking I could probably do another 10-12 by March 27...Fingers crossed!
 Height 5'7"
 SW (January 4, 2016): 180.5
 CW (January 31, 2016): 170.6
 GW (April 1, 2016): between 155-160
 GW (June 25, 2016): Under 155
 Methods:
DIET: Fat SMASH Diet by Dr. Ian K Smith (original printing, 2006): Focus on whole foods; fresh fruits/veg, lean protein, non-meat protein (beans, lentils, soy, etc), whole grains. Low-fat, higher in carbs and protein. On a typical day this month, I'll come in under 1400 calories with 50-60% carbs, 20-25% protein, around 15-20% fat.
Starting Wednesday of this week (Phase III), I'll start adding in more grains, larger portions of protein, and more fats (avocados, olive oil, small amounts of butter, whole eggs, etc).
EXERCISE: 40-60 minutes cardio 5x week. Running, walking, spin class, and Just Dance! (Nintendo Wii). I keep track of calories burned with a Polar F7 heart rate monitor. I shoot for at least 400 calories burned per session.
Again, starting Wednesday of this week (Phase III in Fat SMASH), I'll start adding in weight/strength training. The book recommends waiting until Phase III to start because of the reduced number of calories you're eating in the first two phases, and I'll be getting more calories, more protein, and more fats to help fuel lean muscle building and recovery.
I'm pretty stoked. I've done this program before (when I was in college) and lost more than 30lbs in about a year (maybe less? It was so long ago, I can't remember how long it took!). I've NEVER gained back those 30lbs, though I've crept up in the last year. I'm really hoping that I can do it again this year!
Good luck, everyone. Keep up the great work!0

            Height: 5'1.5"
 SW:159 (Dec.31'15)
 SW for challenge: 159 lbs
 GW for challenge: 139 lbs
Ultimate goal weight: 118 -125 lbs
 January 31: 155 lbs.
This month was a struggle. I did not lose any weight the last 3 weeks of the challenge. I got my measurements done at the gym this past week.. I lost 4lbs fat, replaced with muscle. My three upper body measurements have gotten smaller. My hips, and thighs smaller, calves got bigger from increased hiit cardio.

Ok, I've been doing this for a week, now, and I'm down 5 lbs! I know it'll come off quickly at the beginning, though, so I don't expect that to continue. But at least I'm 25% of the way to my Easter goal. 0 0
