so I'm going to start having protein powder but I'm lactose intolerant. Anyone know of a good dairy free protein powder?

You could try vegan protein powders, there are also beef or ox protein powders.

There is also garbanzo bean flour which is a good protein you can add to a smoothie.

Be careful with pea and bean based powders- they can cause 'unsociable' side effects lol!

My protein powder is one can of garbanzo bean mixed with 8 oz of carrot juice/8 oz water, 2-3 tbs of sunflower seed butter, 1 frozen banana and 3 ounces of organic spring mix - completely dairy free and full of protein and iron.

Vega is a good one, but a little pricey. Trader Joe's has a vanilla soy protein powder that is just OK, but the price can't be beat.

Spirulina is expensive but it fits your criteria. I believe Vega One includes spirulina in its formulation.

My husband uses the GNC egg white protein (vanilla ice cream flavor). I've had to use it a few times when I run out of whey - it's quite good!
