I work in a furniture factory running a CAD machine that cuts pieces out of fabric. So I run a computer for 12 hours a day and tell it what I want it to do and pick up heavy stacks of fabric. My machine cuts up to 40 high or more and anywhere from 2 yards long to 26 yards long.

I am a "Distribution Supervisor" for a local food producing company... I have 8 straight trucks and 1 tractor trailer that I have on the road 5-6 days a week. I also drive (the straight trucks) as needed - I used to be a full time truck driver, the management position is pretty new for me!

I am a registered nurse specializing in heart failure and going to school for more letters to put behind my name. Oh yeah, and I have 4 kids, 2 dogs, and a husband of 16 years. Lots of overweight people in the health care field...seems that we're focused on taking care of others instead of ourselves.

I am a medical transcriptionist and absolutely love it. I am going to finish my HIT degree and hopefully pursue my HIM degree as well. I am also a travel agent (from home part time) and it is a lot of fun too. The problem is my jobs are all desk jobs, but I really do enjoy them. Maybe after I lose some weight I will find a career that requires more from me physically too.

I'm a Public Information Specialist for the county I live in. Basically, I write news releases, update the calendar on our website when needed, add people to our databases (or take them away), do a monthly public newsletter and whatever else is asked of me. :flowerforyou: The big project I'm working on right now is an Annual Report, looking back at 2008 and the progress made by each department in the county government.

On the side, I work for a news website. I update their daily articles, videos and pictures, and put a link up each morning for people to click on to hear their radio show.

I love my jobs and feel very lucky to have them!

I'm glad someone posted that question.. it's interesting reading what you guys do.

    I'm in the movie business.

Right now I am a producer assistant / head coordinator for the United Film Festivals, but I work on set for side jobs as well. I'm also a masters student and a SAHM.

I love it! My dream is to have a bakery though. Geez, thats probably a ways off.

That's cool about the bakery! I wouldn't mind working at a bakery... I mean I like watching cooking shows and Ace of Cakes and its so neat what they come up with...I'm really not artsy I guess...but I could learn!

I love baking too! Just signed up for a Wilton Cake Decorating class at a local AC Moore. It's gonna be hard not to eat the cake though.

LOL! I was just thinking to myself "not a graphic designer in the bunch?" and now I'm posting right behind another one! :drinker:

I'm a resigned art director turned photography studio owner (in my home) and my kids (the younger two) stay home with me, now!

Um, I'd like to add that if I owned or worked at a bakery...or could bake AT ALL...I would have eighty pounds to lose instead of forty. I loves me some baked goods!!
  • I am a teacher, certified in elementary and special education. I am a mom to 4 kids who are very active in sports, school and music. Last but not least, I am a wife to a college coach.

    Wow!
I liked reading about you all.
I am a In-Home Hospice Caregiver. I have worked in the Geriatric / Alzheimers field for almost 30yrs.
I started out in the late 70's as a CNA in our local Retirement Home.
I became a medication Assistant and worked with Alzheimers patients for two years. I decided to get certified as an Activity Director in the mid 90's and worked at a Rehab Center. Then I took a long needed break. I returned in 2000 and love in-home care, it's the one-on-one attention I can give that I love.
