Yeah! Another loss this week!
I was feeling bad about how the weight is not coming off as quickly as I'd like, so I looked back at pictures from 1 year ago. OMG! 52.5 pounds down and the difference is amazing! I will not get upset again. I look so much better, feel so much better, and know I am so much healthier. It's a marathon, not a race. When I dont lose, it's because of choices I have made and that's ok. This is a lifestyle change for me-not a diet. Slow and steady for me
Good luck to everyone this week!!!!0 -

Eating healthy doesn't take any extra time and it's so worth it. When you invest 30 minutes of your day to working out and you make healthier choices at the grocery store, you will notice faster results, which will only inspire you to keep going.
Here are 6 tips for how to organize your health in 30 minutes -
Time Decide how much time you are willing to commit to your health. I recommend a small number, like 30 minutes, because it will be much easier to stick to it! It's a lot harder for me to talk myself out of doing a workout when it's only 30 minutes, because it's only 30 minutes!
Meal plan Meal planning will help you make healthier choices at the grocery store. This might sound like a daunting task but it's actually really easy and in the long run it will save you time and money!
Decide on a workout Some people enjoy going to the gym but for me that's just not practical because I can't commit that amount of time. I chose a workout that was short, but gave/gives me great results, and I like the instructor. It's so important to like the instructor, no matter what workout you chose, because if you don't like listening to the person then you're less likely to turn on the workout.
Get accountability When I first started working out I would call my friend every day to let her know what I had done, how I'd been eating that day, etc. If I didn't call her, she'd call me and ask if I'd done my workout; or ask why she hadn't heard from me. This was HUGE for me. There were days I totally wanted to back out but I knew that if I didn't call her, she'd call me, and even if I didn't care about letting myself down that day, I did not want to let her down. Accountability is so important, without it you will probably end up quitting. Since August we have inspired enough of our friends to start going after their health, that we have a private Facebook group where we all post our sweaty pictures every day, or seek motivation.(TC)

Slow and steady for me
Good luck to everyone this week!!!!

So... my scale broke. I bought a new one and it has me 6 pounds heavier than my old broken one. I know I haven't actually gained any weight, but it's thrown all my goal numbers off and discouraged me so I'm going to restart my 12 weeks tomorrow with new goals and try to get re-motivated.0

Weight loss, life change and Goal setting
Losing weight is a long, bumpy road. What works for one person can be a disaster for another. Knowing why you want to lose weight will help guide you through those moments when you want to give up, says Heather Bainbridge, RD, nutrition care coordinator at Temple Health Bariatric at Temple University Hospital and Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia. And your goal is more likely to resonate if you include real-world benefits, like having more energy to play with your kids or pursue new activities. "Your why is the grounding force that will push you through tough times," she says.
Confidence is one of the single biggest predictors that you will be able to change, says Charles Platkin, PhD, MPH, "You really need to believe in your ability to organize and execute a behavioral modification. "Weight loss is a tough road, so you need to rely on the confidence that you can attain what you want.
Platkin stresses the importance of planning and goal setting. "No matter what, it's something you need to take the time to write down," he says. In one study, people were 42% more likely to reach their goals when they wrote them down. Platkin recommends setting a long-term goal and outlining the steps you'll take to carry it out. Don't say, "I'm going to lose 25 pounds." Instead, pick a number you want to weigh, devise a thorough plan of attack, and figure out the best strategies for getting there. And then keep careful track of your progress. The eating changes you make should be forever—not the next 3 month. Platkin advises forming new patterns that make your eating and exercise habits automatic. "It shouldn't be a diet; it should be a way of life," he says. "You break a diet. You don't take a break from your life
Set plenty of intermediate goals: "The most important thing to remember is any weight loss is good," says Louis Aronne, MD, the director of the Comprehensive Weight Control Center at Weill-Cornell Medical College and author of the forthcoming book The Change Your Biology Diet: The Proven Program for Lifelong Weight Loss. "Any weight loss will improve your cardiovascular function, reduce your risk for diabetes, and help your blood-pressure." If you aim to lose 80 pounds, celebrate every 10 that you manage to shed.(Prevention)

Do-overs: They’re what your parents use to give you when you missed an easy hole on the mini golf course. But sadly, with adulthood, comes “grown-up” responsibilities, leaving little to no time for second shots—especially when it comes to your long-term happy weight. Shedding pounds takes countless hours of dedication, so if you’ve already gone through the grind to reach your goal weight, do you really want to do it again? We didn’t think so.
