Ha-ha! Crazy-ness! No sweat- I don't keep track of my friends, they hang with me or they don't. No worries. But I did miss you.0 -
Now I fully understand the profile pic! Sorry you have to deal with going through that!MorningGhost14 wrote: »@shanaber and @Elise4270 ... and anyone else on my Friends list... I hope it's ok that I'm joining the challenge halfway through the month. I did some of these challenges last year and they're great!
After a pretty dismal December for running (I ran 3 times), I spent January getting back into it and now ready to start ramping up my mileage again. My goal for February is 200km and I'm sitting at 77km so far. I have a 50 mile race in June that I'm working towards.
Happy running everyone!
Of course! Join in!0 -

10/2….strength day
11/2….5.01
12/2….11.23
13/2….10.00
Goal : 71.89 / 180 km
Left knee is very sore. I know I definitely over did it! BUT I did the 10k virtual run! If I have to walk now for a month, I don’t mind. I have the HM next month, but as it’s another virtual I can walk it, if need be. My husband bought me a resistance band today (He asked me what I wanted for Valentines Day)So I will be icing my knee, rolling out my glutes and doing a bit of strength and stretching for a little while!

Well done everyone, but especially to those establishing a running/walking routine.
Finally got out for a run this am, after a mad week at work. So glad to have a week off. I'm aiming to run 3 or 4 times next week.
I can't get my ticker to work. I've done 17.1km, 22.9km to go!

2/7: 18 miles LR
2/8: 6.1 miles with Joe to Go crew
2/9: Rest day

2/11: 6 miles (am), 6 miles (pm) with the Thursday crew
2/12: Rest day!
2/13: 14 miles with Saturday crew
I ended up heading to my group run this morning. The temperature at 6 am was going to be the same temperature through the day, but with increasing winds each hour. So I thought it would be nice to suffer as a group rather than alone. Plus my running buddy was running her longest run of her marathon training plan so far, and no one else was doing more than 6-7, so I went with her and ran the 2nd half with her. But oh boy, was it cold!! 18-20 degrees, with winds 10-25 mph which meant a "real feel" temp of 5-10 degrees. Had I been running solo, I probably would have crapped out early because it was pretty miserable. But having someone to complain with made it much easier
Now counting down til the Olympic Marathon Trials start! Going to a viewing party where we'll have a superbowl-esque food spread, because let's be real... this is the running version of the superbowl. So excited for the women's race! I run for a Oiselle team, so of course I'll be rooting for the Oiselle "birds" out there on the course!
Upcoming races:
4/3: Caesar Rodney Half Marathon
5/1: New Jersey Marathon

Same here! Goucher is trying one more time! I'm working today. Hoping to catch it still!
Side note-mfp finally updated its app, I can see pics and tickers now, wooo hooo!0 -
@Elise4270 Definitely rooting for Kara! I listened to the Another Mother Runner podcast interviews with non-elite qualifying women who run for Oiselle, and it was so cool to hear all their "regular people" stories about how they got their OT qualifying times. Very inspirational!0

Been a busy week. Some of those rest days were simply days I couldn't find time to run. Legs feel supercharged the last few days though. That's good. Hoping to log some mileage today and tomorrow to be ahead of the goal pace for the month.

@MorningGhost14 - that sounds like a miserable run. No oxygen, I've had that biking.
@elise4270 - thank you again for the shipping. Mine says delivery is today, so excited. I want to just put it on and run.
When I did the Good Form Running clinic they talked about the 180 stride and the person running the clinic who owns the running store said she can't do it. She's been running about 30 years and she goes 170. But they showed us a video of some olympic race where the guys were doing 180 with shorter strides -- and obviously going very fast. I can't get to 180 myself but working on it.

Ran a 5K today at Skip's old Elementary School. Her track team volunteered to help out and worked with the timer. It was a cold one, 25F at the start 17F with wind chill, most of the race was out of too much wind which was good. I KT taped my knee and had ZERO pain until about 5 mins AFTER the race. At mile 2 it started to talked to me but that was a downhill portion, the minute I passed the downhill it stopped. 30:54 so no where near my 5K PR, I was just happy to be out thereI finished 4th in my AG (behind Skip's 4th grade teacher LOL) and 65th overall of I think 180 or something. Over 250 were signed up but I guess the cold kept them away.

@ddmom0811 yea! I have my fingers crossed all make to their destinations. I haven't put mine on, feel like bad luck until everyone has theirs.
@kristinegift pretty cool on the Oiselle team! I didn't know there were non-professional teams. That is so cool. I found a way to watch it from work.0
