I just walk, I have three dogs and we do about 2 hours a day. I've lost a lot of weight so it definitely works.0awjfbdyq6wy.jpeg

What a lovely view, where do you live Osiris? Love that name btw

Thanks, I live in the Highlands of Scotland :)

I think I would be much more inclined to walk more if I lived there!

I am also a walker! I aim for a minimum mile a day each morning but I add in a 5k usually once a week and sometimes I aim for 2 miles on my walks. My speed is around 3.0 - 3.5 mph, love walking! I'm actually doing my first 10k tomorrow morning and plan to walk the whole thing!

Rigel and Linda back again! Well today were short 15 min walks outdoors. It was -42 today. Even hearty Rigel had trouble with that temp. So we did 5 - 15 min adventures outside to get his doggy walks in. The treadmill was not so boring today - got to watch The Magnificent Seven. Yul Brenner and Steve McQueen. This cold snap is suppose to break tomorrow. Happy Valentine's Day everyone. Hug someone you love!

The pics on here of walks in woods are making me pretty darn jealous! I just walk suburban streets.

What a great thread! I love all the pictures and the stories about walking. The cold snap is supposed to break tomorrow here too and I can't wait. (Northern MN) I moved last fall and now I am near a great trail, around a lake with heavy woods.

Yes! Some people say walking is the best way to lose weight. I think the best excersize is swimming, but that's another story. I've lost about 45lbs with diet and walking in the past year and there is nothing better than getting some fresh air to de-stress especially with a friend. My mom and I like to walk a lot. Here are some shots from when we went to Santa Monica early one morning. ☺️js1hs4gi5z4z.jpeg

Our city built an amazing coastal walkway which is 13kms (8 miles) long, fantastic place to walk/jog/run/bike etc. I walk here every chance I get and there are always people on it.

Oh my goodness Linda -42. we don't get anything near that in the UK, when hubby and I went to Prague we had -13 and we both struggled lol. I want your address so I can send you fluffy pyjamas and a hot water bottle :D

Santa Monica looks lovely. I'm dying to go to America, there are so many beautiful places there

    Our local beach....

It is cold this morning here in Southern, Ohio...14 degrees with a wind chill it was more like 7 degrees. I managed to walk 6.5 miles. I needed to get out this morning and move my legs. I feel so much better. We are expecting snow this evening so who knows when I can get out there again.

Initially my excersize was pretty much just walking (and a little yoga). It is still the main part of what I do. I walk back and forth to work 3-4 times a week 5km each way. Plus I train for long distance walking. Lat two years we walked two long distance paths in the UK and next year another one. This year we can't due to other commitments, but the holiday will include walks :-)

Walking is the only exercise I do. My fitbit and seeing those calories in my diary increase throughout the day is a big motivator.

Lovely, does your doggy like to swim? My Freddie loves swimming and running in and out of the sea!
That looks like a lovely sandy beach

He's my daughters dog, I live 5 minutes from the beach, so she comes down to visit often. And yes, he loves to swim and socialise with every human and dog that crosses his path!

Well 48 hours ago it was -42 Celsius here in St Malo Manitoba Canada. Today it was +1, a 41 degree turn around. Go figure. Of course the temperature change was accompanied by strong southerly winds and about 10cm of snow yesterday. But today was beautiful and sunny so Rigel, hubby and I made the best of it with a lovely long walk at the park. I started tracking my treadmill and outdoor steps last Monday and I am over the 110,000 mark today. It has also resulted in a positive downward movement on the scales. Whoopee! Tomorrow hubby is off to a small town on James Bay in northern Quebec for work. He will be gone a month. So another test to keep myself busy so I don't eat out of boredom. I have some activities lined up so we will see. We are both retired but he got bored and took this part-time job that he loves. The only downside is that the work is in remote communities in Canada's north for 2-4 weeks at a time :(. Rigel and I will just have to do lots of walking between my projects. Mid-February usually bring the start to the weather breaking heading into spring in early March so should be good walking times. Take care all KEEP CALM AND WALK ON!

Walking is one of the things I do for exercise, though not the only thing. I love all the photos of your walking paths (and canine companions)! Thank you everyone for sharing them. My walking is all urban.
