I notice that every time I exercise I feel better about life. It clears my mind a little. I feel accomplished and more focused.

I just wish I would put it first to feel more clear every day, but I'll get there. Lol. Hopefully. Eventually.

    Difficult.

My body just doesn't seem to like to move

I'm not sure what fitness means to me, exactly. But when I can walk up "cardiac hill" at work without getting out of breath, I will know I am there.

    Me time

Nothing compares to zoning out while out on a long run or at the gym. Regardless of how bad my day was, some "me time" (a workout) can make it alllll better.

I also wanted to say therapy, but someone already did.

What can I say about fitness??? Oh how I love the feeling of being fit. It is a feeling where you feel so free, like you can be whatever you want to be. Espescially when you master that set of squats, pushups, pull ups, plank.....whatever it is you know for a fact that you never could have done it before without putting your body to the test. I love the feeling of fit, thats why I grind and push in my workouts, with the bigger picture in mind :)

MEDICINE My parents are on a cocktail of pills and injections. 30 minutes a day can help keep me off that track.

    (1) therapy (running), (2) personal challenge, (3) source of pride that no one else needs to understand for it to be meaningful, (4) a welcome break from an unfocused brain (running, specifically)

Notice that it has nothing to do (as do most of the answers) with wearing smaller clothes or seeing a smaller number on the scale. Not that those are bad things, but being fit is a state of mind and a daily affirmation of life (at least it is for me).

    Great reminder, OP - thanks.

It's just an awesomely powerful feeling that can make you feel like you can achieve anything as long as you're willing to put the effort in.

a way to help me focus, bring my mind to peace, me time... so far, I haven't read an answer here I can't identify with.

Also, an effective way of helping my moods and blood sugar.

Fitness is being able to do the things I want to do, not being limited by my body.

Exercise is therapy and me time, as people said, it's time to get outside and cure my cabin fever, to be alone with my thoughts, or to leave my thoughts behind and take in the scenery.

It has become part of my life. I get antsy if I don't do something for "fitness time".

I started this post because I am in serious need of motivation. I hoped reading some responses would motivate me and it's starting too. You guys have all summed up how I feel. Please keep your comments coming.
