I'd like to do a cleanse, but I'm not sure what to do. Anyone have any suggestions or successes? Main goal here is to try to reduce some belly fat. Thanks in advance!

Your post sounds like you are looking for a shortcut for losing weight.

I have bad news for you - there are no shortcuts.

I also have good news for you - by maintaining a modest, consistent calorie deficit, you can lose weight. You are in the right place to learn how to do that.

Do you have a fully functioning Liver and Kidneys? If so, you don't need a cleanse, your body does it just fine on its own.

    ^^^this^^^

All humor aside, it takes a long time to gain the weight - It can certainly take a while to lose it. Set a realistic goal and go for it - try it for 2 weeks and see the difference.

Heh, guess I fell for the hype. Good thing I didn't invest anything into it.

BTW, I know it's going to take a while to reverse the moderate damage I've done to myself. I'm not looking for a quick out, I'm more interested in a way to not FEEL as bloated. I have a terrible habit of needing instant gratification that I am trying to break myself out of. I've lost about 8lb of fat and gained about 1lb of muscle in the last 7-8 weeks, so I am trying to do it right, slow and steady.

    Thanks everyone.

A "Cleanse" helps cleans out your colon, maybe dehydrates you a bit. It has nothing to do with belly fat. There is no diet, no food, no exercise that will specifically helps you lose belly fat.

Eat less, move more. Your body will drop the fat wherever it pleases (partly genetic anyway).

Weight loss is a great way to learn how to deal with non-instant gratification.

Sugar free gummy bears. Otherwise just have a calorie deficit and you will lose weight.

Even one gives my stomach pains (chicory root). I can't imagine an entire box.

If you are wanting to get rid of the bloated feeling, look through your diary and see if there is a correlation between what you eat, and when you feel bloated.

If you can't pin point it. Start tracking the bloating in your notes section- time and what you ate, a pattern may evolve.

    Different things bloat different people.
It could be the instant gratification just over fills you, it could be a particular food.

Glad your not going to do a cleanse.

    Cheers, h.
edit: make sure you are well hydrated. Liquids help move solids through your digestive system.

I was going to say the same thing. Those bears are colon-cleaning machines (why haven't pharmacists caught onto it and prescribe green/yellow bears as colonoscopy prep?).

Some comments on here are really not helping. People can be so mean.
Hun just watch what you eat n yes it's hard to do. Drink lots of water every day. And exercise! I exercise 3-4 days out of the week. Get on the treadmill, once you start losing weight work on strength.
Best of luck to you, add me for support :)

The St. Pattys Day cabbage cleanse is a great one. I am on it now. Great thing about it is you only have to do it one day a year.

Your body doesn't need a cleanse though. If your liver, kidneys, and lungs are functioning properly, then you are properly excreting all the "toxins" your body accumulates.

Seriously. Detoxing/Cleansing is a big sham created by the diet industry. The only medical detoxes that I have heard of (nursing student) is the stomach being pumped with charcoal for certain poisonings/overdoses (or being given the antagonist of a drug or inducing vomiting in someone who has orally overdosed on something) and dialysis for people with kidney disease.

Yes! ^^This! I found out the hard way after consuming some and then I thought I had a stomach virus. Not to be gross, but I was thoroughly clean from the inside out.

No one is being mean to the OP at all. Any fun being poked is at the "cleanse" and "detox" industry because it's a scam. OP has learned and now knows the truth. Kudos to the OP!

You have chosen the right path, well done! And BTW, I've been at this a year now, and while I am down to the last 10-ish pounds, it's all still in my belly. But I am patient and I will reign supreme over my stupid, annoying belly fat.

Please point out the mean comments.

Additionally, exercise is not required for weight loss.

OP, feel free to add me for facts and science.

    Yay you!

Are you really bloated, or is that another modern myth women are supposed to believe about ourselves that you've fallen for?

ETA: Or are you trying to say you're constipated? "Bloated" is such an unhelpful term.

Hi! I when I want to cleanse, I drink a glass of water upon waking up. Afterwhich I drink hot turmeric tea. During the day I hydrate with atleast 4L of lemon water with honey.

    Hope this helps.
