    Another vote for eShakti. They're fabulous because for just an extra $7.50 they'll tailor their clothes to your dimensions perfectly. I love this because stores like Torrid/Lane Bryant/etc are often too big for me in the boob region if they fit me over the hips/shoulders, eShakti is mostly dresses, but they have pockets!!!! And some pants too.

    When I was a size 16 I used to shop at the Plus sized Dress Barn. (I figured I could be the fattest chick in the regular dress barn or the smallest in the plus sized one. The choice was easy). I love their tights and nylons in particular as well as cute jackets. Some of their pants are a little too old lady for me, but my favoritest pair of jeans ever came from there. They also have stuff that comes in short, so if you're like me and Humpty Dumpty you can get a bigger size but not a longer legnth. I hate that stores assume that if you're rocking a 16 that it's because you are 6 foot tall. I'm a 12 now and I don't love their regular sized stuff as much.

    I used to shop at torrid, especially when I worked at their sister store and got a 40% employee discount!

    I've seen some cute things in the plus dept at Target.

    I'm going to add a request for clothes that are in between plus and regular.

    Yesterday I went shopping at Nordstrom in the plus size section. To my surprise, I'm now a 1X in blouses - and they're pretty loose. This is surprising to me, since I'm 228 pounds and I've been plus size since I was 200 pounds. Plus, I was 2X in those same brands when I was 234 pounds ie three weeks ago.

    So, I think it's pretty safe to assume that companies have gone through a new round of vanity sizing this season, and that everything is bigger.

    So does this extend to regular sizing as well? Is a regular 16/18 bigger than it used to be? The last time I was a 16 I was 190 pounds. Or will I find myself once again in the no (wo)man's land between plus and regular sizing for several months?

    Ahhh the grass is always greener ;) Every shape has its challenges!! All I can say is when stretch jeans became popular it made buying jeans alot easier!!

    With Boden, you have to consider the cut and actual garment measurements before ruling it out. I regularly wear a 10 in many of their tops, but am a 12/14 in other brands. The looser blouses particularly tend to run large. I'm just glad they have the real measurements on their site. I wish more online retailers would do that!!

    I've gotten several items from mycurvystore.com. Not the greatest quality, but I've gotten some cute shirts and dresses. Free shipping and it gets to you pretty fast. Their stuff tends to sell out quickly, especially the larger sizes.

    You might not know, but Ann Tayler, J. Crew and NY&Co all go up to size 18. J. Crew has jeans that go up to a 20. Great for straight legs with a medium to small rear. If you have full hips and large rear try the Jackson fit pants from Banana Republic. :) I also like Old Navy, Cato women's, Lane Bryant (lingerie mostly) and Belle + Sky, Arizona (JCP brands). Second-hand and commission shoppes are awesome too!

    Also, if you can afford it, get your clothes tailored or take up sewing and do it yourself. A $3.00 pair of jeans from the thrift store can look like a $100 pair with the right tailoring for your body type :)

    Oh wow, I didn't know Ann Taylor started carrying larger sizes.

    2010 I remember going there and discovering that their size 12 no longer fitted me. I still remember the salesperson telling me that they didn't have any larger sizes. I think that was the last time I tried shopping in a "chain" store.

    I like Torrid but can't afford that. I really love the jeans I got at Catos got them on sale. I get most of my blouses at Ross because I'm cheap. But most my wardrobe is nerdy tshirts. I only buy nice clothes for work. I'm not good at cloth shopping. I really wish I had friends to go with it might help.

    I'm surprised people still like LB. When I was little, I used to have to shop in their Chubby department. Maybe that's why I hate it. Also, I worked there. I just think the sizes aren't accurate and they are so overpriced. $70 for a tee shirt???
    Glad I found YOURS CLOTHING; found it by accident while searching Amazon. Then went to their site. I also like the Avenue, especially for jeans. Sadly, most plus sizes (and by plus I mean size 22 and up) are very out of date and frumpy. I prefer more stylish stuff, even though I'm an old fart!

    Rainbow, Dots, CitiTrends, Forever21, and Old a Navy all have STUPID CHEAP clothes!!! Sometimes their sizes go up to 5X. AMI Clubwear is plus size hoochie gear <3 cuz big girls like crotchless panties and fishnet dresses in the bedroom too :D Torrid is classy and cute, though a little more expensive than I like. I'm hella thrifty!

    @HeyMissNya those are good suggestions! I forgot about Forever 21. I like them because they are always on trend.

    @deaddolly, agreed about LB. I hate the weird synthetic glint that's in their clothes, and have never found something there that fits well.

    Maybe forever21 plus? And if you are in the states I would try gwynnie bee! I'm in Canada and they don't offer that here.

    I'm biased because I work there, But Torrid is my absolute favorite. I LOVE the way the jeans fit me and they offer a lot of very flattering styles for every body shape. Plus they always have a sale going on. ALWAYS. I also love city chic online and Maurices is another favorite.

    I love Torrid & Maurice's. I do like Lane Bryant for work clothes - especially slacks, the Houston style is my favorite & what I find most flattering on my shape. I also like Lucky Brand tops, I get them usually of Amazon and just watch the price go down & then snag it, but their stuff has been a nice addition to my wardrobe. Target I've had hit & miss luck w/ the quality - cute stuff, but some hasn't washed up as well as I'd have liked.

    I love Lane Bryant, Torrid, Eshakti, Dress Barn, Kohls, Avenue, and Amazon. I found the perfect tall plus size jeans on Amazon. Wallflower was the brand. Best jeans I've ever owned!

    The coupons from Torrid are great too. I don't think I have ever paid full price for anything there.

    That's funny. I'll admit their 18's fit me when I got into a size 16 :)

    Have you guys tried Ashley Stuart? I've heard they do vanity sizing.
