Fat burning methods n tips

I've recently been listening to some podcast about losing fat instead of losing weight. You guys have any good tips on that? What type of exercise or food helpls you lose fat and not just 'weight'? Please let me know! Thanks!

    Eat in a reasonable calorie deficit.

    Eat enough protein to retain muscle.

    Do some sort of progressive resistance.
