People jump off bridges too, would you just because others do it?
I don't take phentermine, my point was that too much of anything is bad. Especially if it's abused
Except liver damage was not from "too much" or "abuse" of the product, it was from the recommended amount.0 -

doesn't make it right or mean they have any sense in their head!
From what I've read, heard from former users of herbalife products on MFP liver failure doesn't necessarily take years with garbage products. Just like phentermine can effect someone's heart the first time they take it and not effect someone else's until down the road.
Is it worth the risk to lose a wee bit faster than everyone else? Nah, calorie deficit and that's steady and stays off. You stop a product and you can watch the weight go right back on. Those days are long over for me...0 -

Two previous people required liver transplants, one actually died.

Has horrible reviews.0 -
Read the article after the second page I stopped because it also included other brands of diet products so basically what it boils down to is that no diet supplement is truly safe nor truly effective. It's a choice we all make to use or not no matter what brand.0

If you read carefully it only mentions hydroxycut as also causing liver damage, but a bulk of both articles was about Herbalife.
Hey, if you are willing to risk liver damage and potential death, it truly doesn't effect is. I however, would not.

Congratulations! There will always be Herbalife haters because that's how society is.
The liver failure claims make me crazy because my dad was diagnosed with irreversible liver damage in September 2014. While he waited on the transplant list his doctor recommended to keep protein up, get good nutrition, low sodium diet and stay as healthy as possible so when a liver is available he would be ready. My dad was a farmer, never counted a calorie or watched what he ate. As his POA for health care I took herbalife to his specialist and they told him to take 2 per day!
Keep up the good work. I believe in the product 100%. You got this!. I'm down about 20 lbs since mid Feb but I've been with Herbalife for 4 years. I had a baby in the middle of that plus a crazy year and a half so I just started consistently using the product again. The product is amazing.0 -

The thing with Herbalife and other diet supplements/meals on wheels types of programs like nutrisystem is that you don't learn how to make your own food, portion control, create a deficit with meals you prepare yourself, etc. Once you're off of that stuff, then what? You go back to what you know. It isn't sustainable so people either continue to shell out money for those things or stop and gain the weight back. I know because I tried it, lost 20lbs, didn't learn a thing and when I got sick of it and stopped, I gained it all back. I'm currently down 45lbs without the help of anything but mfp.0

This is what I came in here to say.
Listen, no one wants you to continue to be overweight, not live life to the fullest, etc. And i think if you are willing to invest financially in a product like herbalife and you say that losing weight is a worthwhile venture for you then you should try and listen to what i have to say....
Do you want to maintain your weight loss?
What are you doing every single day to ensure you are going to maintain this lifestyle?
Are you going to drink these shakes for the rest of your life?
How is drinking these shakes vs. eating other foods helping you?
The fact of the matter is herbalife and other products are not sustainable for your long term success. They work simply by creating a calorie deficit. You are replacing a meal (500-600? 700?? calories) with a 90 calories shake. OF COURSE you will lose weight. But what happens when you need to actually eat food for that meal?
There will be days when you are at a birthday part. There will be days when you need to prepare your own breakfast/lunch/etc. You need to be prepared and have the knowledge and skills on how to eat REAL FOOD and still maintain your new healthy weight. Apart from all of the issues i have with herbalife being a pyramid scheme, just from a standpoint of your long term success, it is not worth it!
You will notice that all of these people on MFP who have lost weight and maintained it long term did so by making lifelong changes to their habits, learning new skills, and eating in a manner that is sustainable.0 -

I did herbalife before and it's great. I lose 50lbs in 8 months. Only problem is you need to ween yourself off and eat healthy after you hit ur goal or u will gain back..... To the "haters" out there.... 1. It's just like any other protien powder u would buy... So y such a sad face about using it... And to those saying it's a waste of money do the math.... It gives you 2 weeks of food for two meals a day... A canister (depending where u buy it) at cheapest is about 28-38$....so at the most expensive price your paying $2.71 a shake (1 Shake = 1 meal) .... So how is that expensive... U early spend 5-10$ on a salad or eating at a restaurant.... And that's for ONE meal... No need to reply. Not here for drama... Just saying if it works for you then do it!!!!0 -

So you throw out a doozie, you don't want drama. Alrighty then
It's still more than I would pay for a meal and I would be full after eating. I have learned to how eat without supplements and so have a lot of others.0 -
So have I... Just saying to each his/her own. I'd like to know where u can eat a meal for less then 2.75?? I do protien shakes and eat regular food... Just saying she shouldn't be bashed cause she is looking for others that use what she uses. She didn't ask for negative comments just looking for others like her....0

Four years and you're still taking it? Must not be working that great then...
And to the person saying it costs 5-10 bucks at a restaurant...try cooking your own meals. Much healthier AND cheaper. The options are not all pre-cooked, shakes or restaurants.

That to me would be too expensive and out of our budget. We have a weekly budget of $75 for groceries, to feed two people e meals a day plus snacks. That comes to 1.75 or less per meal so that we have enough for snacks. We do not eat out at all due to my allergies. So yes, that is extremely expensive.0 -

I lost 50 pounds last year and I drank a Mountain DEW at least once or twice a week*. This stuff is amazing. You should try it.
* I really did lose 50 pounds last year and I really did (do) drink Mt DEW every week. No causation or correlation is implied.0 -

I don't understand why anyone would waste money on false claims. I've known way too many people on this and have been for years. Did they lose weight? A little, but not enough to justify the price. Did they keep it off?
Hahahaha....no. Did they learn anything? Nope. Not a thing. They kept to their silly faddish weight loss rules such as meal timing, deprivation/cutting out food groups. Nothing learned and a lot gained.... and money wasted.
Why are some against free weight loss? Why don't people believe that weight loss is as simple as eating less than the body burns throughout the day?
Oh, by the way... the "haters" have been there and done that....over and over and over again. They have masses of experience... they didn't lose weight with pills, silly rules or programs, they used CICO.0
