I did for the last 6 months. It worked for me for the first few weeks, but it really is a regime that suits some people, and not others. And it just didn't suit me. It wouldn't result in binging or anything, I just don't think my non-fast days were that great, because in my head I felt I shouldn't be too concerned if I ate slightly naughty food, or went a little over my allowance, when actually, I should be, if I wanted to see a loss on the scales.
You can always give it a try, you're in this for the long term, so it's about finding what works for you, no matter what that might be.

I did alternate day IF for the weight loss phase and then I used 5:2IF for the transition period between weight loss and maintenance. IF is just a way of manipulating your calories, but I liked it because it didn't feel like I was dieting all the time, which made it easier to stick with.

I did it and found it far better than every day calorie restriction for me. Made my adherence to a moderate weekly deficit far easier without feeling deprived all the time or struggling to fit in social events involving food or drink.
Transition to maintenance was easy too as you are practised at eating at maintenance levels already (the 5 days a week)

    Two 5:2 groups on here:

I do this.. a bit. I used to do it spot on, but now I just work around things I have going on during the week and I do a 'weekly' deficit over a daily one, but I still have days where I'll drop a day down to 700 calories (I am way too active to do 500 calorie days).
