I still eat ice cream fairly regularly. I add chocolate chips to my Greek yogurt. But there are some foods generally labeled as junk that I don't buy as much as I used to (or even at all in some cases). You have to pick what fits into your goals and is worth the calories to you and what isn't.1

All things in moderation. I'm eating foods (while losing weight) that I intend to eat for the rest of my life.
Lifestyle changes for me. If I lose weight without learning portion control for my favorite snack foods, I'm more at risk for gaining the weight back.2 -
I'm about to get some cherry cordial ice cream, but only because I've ensured I've reached my calorie goal and macros with it included. Nutrition is key to your health, of course, but don't deprive yourself of a treat or two.0

This is spot on. I continue to eat all the foods I like, just less of them. I've had no problems hitting my goals, and I'm doing this whole thing on a way that's sustainable for me, long term.0 -

Once or twice a week I eat everything until I am full and happy. And we do keep lots of foods at home, from old buying habit that never changes.
Tonight I just ate as such.
It's perfectly healthy psychologically and psychologically. I easily lose 3 lbs in 2 weeks.

I'm on 1200cal/day so for me it's difficult unless I want to be left hungry. But from time to time I eat all of these. I eat healthy, cooked food mostly because it is the lowest calorie, filling, greatest volume while still tasty food. If I was like some others on 1800 for example I'd have treats every day.1

Oh the things I've done for a Klondike Bar....1

For weight loss it is about calories. Some foods give you more nutrition than others.
I eat a variety of foods including some sweets.
I pre-log my whole day including snacks. I look at meeting my calorie goal first then I aim for getting enough protein. I try to get several servings of vegetables or fruits.
My diary is open and I log every day if you want to see more specifics.

Not everything every day lol. But, yes, no food is off limits for me. If I want something I will make it fit. I am in maintenance, but had the same philosophy during weight loss.0

I love my regular neapolitan icecream bowl with choc mint magic topping. Delish! And fits into my calorie goal nicely.0

I eat everything as long as it's worth the calories for me and that it fits in my day (and I won't end up starving later because of it).
Sadly I'm a hungry person and I can't really eat more than 200-300 'empty' calories in a day (stuff that won't fill me up, like ice cream, cookies, chocolate, but bread too) or I get too hungry (and my goal is 1800. Dunno how people who eat less than that do it, although I wasn't as hungry when I was losing).0 -

Why does it have to be one or the other?
I eat a variety of foods that I find to be satiating and help me achieve my macro and micro nutrient goals. I stay within my calorie limit. BUT I don't restrict myself from eating the foods I love in moderation.
For me that means a glass or two of wine, and something sweet pretty much every day.
Pizza or fast casual food about once a week.
If I want more of a particular food or am going to have a very indulgent meal, then I plan for it and work it into my calories for the week.0 -

Yesterday I had 350 calories worth of cookies and pretzels, out of my calorie total of 1,235 calories for the day. I went to bed not hungry at all, but I also ate other foods that had long satiety levels for me. I look at my food diary as a puzzle, and I put different pieces (foods) together that compliment each other.
Today I'm having fish for lunch, which isn't really filling for me. So I'm also having stew and oats today, which for me have a long satiety level. But, I wouldn't eat 350 calories of cookies/pretzels on the same day as I'd eat fish because I'd be hungry. So I pair less satiety foods with longer satiety foods together0 -
All things in moderation and adherence to portion sizes, with at least a daily piece of chocolate.
Sustainable for lifetime hopefully.0 -
I eat cake, ice cream about once every couple of weeks. I eat healthy 80% of the time. I think everyone is different,if you don't get carried away with it, go ahead0

All treats in moderation. I had ice cream the other night after dinner. It fit in my macros and I wanted it! But it's not an every day thing. If I pass on everything I want all the time, one day I'll just eat it all at once and torpedo all the work I've been putting in.0

i eat what i want, as long as it fits, or keeps me under maintenance at least lol0
