I LOG EVERYTHING. - Even my supplements. but I think I'm OCD! LOL
The reason I log everything is to have a history of my intake (macros, etc) I have acquired food intolerances lately (at 49 years old!) and its helped my naturopath figure out what was happening with me. I also tend to break out in a rash when I eat too much protein (well, to be honest, i was eating 3x the amount of the RDA of protein,so I like to keep an eye. - I don't care what the calories say ( I like to keep them between1200 and 1500) but I really log to watch my Protein, Carbs and SUGAR (which I'm trying to keep to under 20g a day.)

I don't bother with black coffee, water, or diet sodas. Anything with calories I log. I don't track water intake anymore with MFP.

I don't log water as the "8 cups" tracker can be any sized cup. I use a 1 litre water bottle and drink all that.
I log everything else I eat and drink.

I logged my green tea and my 2 Ritz crackers yesterday, so no. I don't think I neglect logging. I log my 6 cups of black coffee on weekends and my 2.8 cups of black coffee on weekdays. I log my vitamins.

I recently started tracking vitamins only so I remember what I take one day to the next. I cycle through several things throughout a week.

As for food and drink, I only worry about things with significant calories. Because calories eaten and calories burned are estimates.

I only log the creamer I put into my coffee.
Don't log tea, lettuce on sandwiches, spices... things like that, that are pretty much zero.

I want my deficit to have a cushion. If my daily deficit is 100 calories, meh. Maybe I will lose today, maybe not.
If it's 200 calories, I feel better about it. That 4 calories from lettuce is not meaningful, daily or long-run. Even if I ate that lettuce 10x a day.

I log everything. I log diet sodas because it has sodium and I want to keep track of that.

Water, diet soda, sugar free drinks (only 5cals which makes no difference to me personally). Everything else gets logged even if it's just lettuce because I also track macros/micros vs only calories.

I don't log my supplements but everything else gets logged. If I'm not honestly keeping track than I won't know what is working vs what needs to change.

If it has no calories/macro value, I don't log it. Anything else, I log.

Whipped cream. I refuse to believe it has calories.

The process of whipping it beats the calories out, doesn't it? Besides which, it's mostly air anyway, right? :innocent:

I stopped logging tea coffee and water. After about 3 months I found I am always well over my minimum water intake - tea and coffee have no calories so that is one I lost.
Dried herbs and spices - they are usually <5 cals in a day and as a result (for me) within the margin of error.

I do log my cooking fats and for instance lemon juice used in cooking.

I don't log olives and pickles i eat (only have like 2 pickles and maybe 10 olives a day and my doc told me i need to eat more salt) But i make up for whatever i dont log or mis-measure slightly by putting in 1.1 servings of everything i log instead of just 1, Even when im only eating 1. Makes me feel better incase i forget something (i dont but it makes me feel better and know im in calorie deficit XD )

I don't log diet drinks, water, or tea. I also don't log butter on my toast or sugar in my tea. I know I'd lose weight a little quicker of I did log these 2 things but I'm ok with it, it's how I've always done it, even on weight watchers.

I don't log garlic, spices and herbs, vitamins, or the occasional breath mint. I count tea (always unsweetened) as part of my water intake as some days I still struggle with getting enough liquids (besides coffee) and I can always tell the next day. Sometimes I forget to log the drizzle of olive oil used to saute veggies or cook eggs but I've still been slowly losing so far so I'm not going to get hung up about that.
