It's a work in progress. My upper body, including my arms, seems fairly tight. Not perfect, but OK. But my top half is quite lean, even skinny in spots; remaining fat layer is mostly waist & down.
My face, as you can see in the photo, is somewhat looser-skinned, but seems to be improving fairly rapidly. I also have some loose skin around my midsection, plus some "fluffier" fat remaining (when I lose fat it gets squishier first, presumably because some fat cells in a region have given up fat, and others haven't - I think this is common). That, too, seems to have improved a little, but more slowly. (*TMI Warning*) My rear end, sadly, looks like bulldog's face; it's hard enough for me to see in the mirror that I can't tell whether there's been improvement in that over time.
Except for the back view, overall the results seem not too bad - much less loose skin than I'd feared, and in the roughly 3 months since I hit my low weight, it has improved. (It may help that I'm pretty active, and have been for a dozen years.) I think I look not-too-scary in a one-piece swimsuit, and I don't have any intention of wearing a bikini anyway (especially at age 60) - I swim in swimsuits, not bask about.
And the full set of effects are so much better, appearance-wise in addition to many other ways, compared to being fat!31 -
Every single one of you who has shared their success stories are brave, courageous, dedicated, and inspirational. I have just started my weight loss journey and seeing all of you gives me hope for my future as well. Thank you so much for setting such a great example of why we should be healthy and how to get there.10
