Hi! I'm hoping that I can connect with other people who are participating in the current research study for the Transpyloric Shuttle. I had my endoscopic procedure on Monday 2/22/16. Looking to compare notes, get and share support to others who are participating.

@houstod4, So far so good! I am two weeks out this past Monday and feeling good. I get occasional cramps, but not anything that I need to take anything for and they don't usually last long. I lost 6 pounds the first week. Where are you located in the world? I'm in Vermont.

Hi. I just had the TPS installed yesterday at Dartmouth. I'm guessing it is there as I've been cramping and can't eat much. Still on liquids. I'm in New Hampshire.

Hey @PTSmiles. I am full of questions and more questions. I go Tuesday, April 26th for the procedure. I started taking Prilosec today and Thursday is my baseline. I hope I get it. Overeating is my problem or leisure eating so I hope this helps. I want to train myself to eat the way I'm suppose to so once I lose weight, I won't gain it back. How much have you lost so far since you've had it in? What does the diet consist exactly the first 3 days and the following 7 days? I know I find out Thursday but I'm so anxious that I've been surfing the net like crazy and I stumbled on this. :)

I had my procedure on the 25th. Still cramping after I eat, mostly but they aren't bad. Other than that nothing big to report.

Hey guys!! It's me Blittle74. I changed accounts. Procedure was tuesday May 3 so today is last day for liquids. Cramping that feel kinda like hunger pains that last about 4 or 5 seconds but thats it. Im ready for eggs tomorrow though. Lol Getting all my calories has been hard but i do get my protein and she said these three days that's most important.

So how long does the cramping last and did you start hitting your calorie mark with soft foods?

@iSparkleForever, Yay, for the last day of liquids. I found it really hard to hit my calories when I was on liquids as well. Even when I went to the soft food phase it was hard. Eggs were amazing after being on only liquids. Enjoy them. I think for me the cramps(which weren't bad enough to take the medicine they provided) lasted a couple of weeks.

Hey hey!!! I had to take the cramping medicine last night so I could sleep. It helped. A couple of weeks isn't too bad then. So does the cramping mean there's a good chance we have the device? How's your hunger now that you're on regular food?

@iSparkleForever My appetite has gradually come back. Before the study, I laughed at the nutritionist when she told me I would be eating between 1200-1500 calories because I didn't think I would be able to do it and not be starving. I apologized when I went back after the procedure. Weekends need some work, as I tend to almost feel like I have to play catch up. I feel like I've been good all week and weekends are my chance to make up for it. Not that I'm necessarily eating horribly, but I definately tend to go over my calories. Part of the problem is the weekends screw up my routine.

@iSparkleForever I have lost 10lbs and a total of 5 3/4" in two months. :-) *ducks under desk* Yes, I have attempted alcohol and had no ill side effects.

I have heard a bunch of us complain of cramping. Mine wasn't bad, so it is possible that it was just gas. My biggest complaint was the throat irritation from the breathing tube. My first follow up endoscopy was much better.
Keep us posted on your progress.

I had my procedure on April 25th and still get some cramping, not bad though. Haven't lost many pounds - 7, but inches have been pretty good. I agree with the throat irritation - I was in tears the couple of days after it was SO sore. Weekends are bad for my calories and I find if I don't drink enough water, I tend to gain.
